The end of the law

I have finished the last week at the office before I head to Texas. I have done all I can to learn how to send video. I was told that to get enough band width to send a stream that over 100 people can watch would cost over $5,000.00 an hour. A bit more than I can afford.

I have a group looking to find a solution for next year, but I will be there in a few days, glued to my television to see what happens in the nation. I haven't been this involved since Kenedy.

I love to hear from those on the road, and please come by so I can pass on your message. I hope I get a good seat, and can talk to everyone. I have a great new joke for Bob, and always enjoy our quality time.

More to come.

Last Friday

Here we are, the Friday before the National. I actually have a break in the law stuff, and can consider how many are already in Texas, and it looks like I will be there. I leave in about an hour to appear in court for the last "break" and I suspect the judge will let me go.
I will be there to post to the blog, and to miss those who will not be there. We will all have a good time, and be secure in knowing there will be another show in a year or so. They all blend together in my memory, and I don't know that I can tell you at which show something happened, just that it did.

This year I will experment with steaming video. I don't think it is going to work, but next year Gail has told me the club may get behind it. If so, with all the power on the board, and the support of the members, I am sure we will have something for everyone to watch.
I envy those on the road, and will be on the plan with Liz and Robert.

Tedi and I are ready. She is shopping, packing, planning outfits and arranging for the dogs. I will work Monday and pack when I get up on Tuesday.
It is a guy thing.

What I do for you

I spent three hours today working on the streaming video. I got two experts to help me, Allen, and Dr. Sheldon Howard. They both understand computers, and have years of experience. We got the camera to work, and to download to my laptop, but it wouldn’t go through to the location for all to watch.
At the national each year I have had a problem getting access to the net. There has been one reason after the other. So, I purchased an air card, to attach to my computer to send out the Blog. It worked, and one year I had to go outside to use it, another to a local store. But, each year I got the Blog out, and it seems to work.
Well, it seems that the air card will not send the streaming video. When I go on DSL it works, but with a 24 second delay. Also, the system set up will only allow 6 people on at a time, but Zoe is working to extend that to 60. If I can get on the DSL, or if the location is Wi Fi, the streaming video will work. Also, I have a funky camera, so if someone has a better camera, I have purchased an adaptor that will work on every camera.
That is where we stand. Will we have streaming video? I don’t know. I have it set up, I have the camera, I have the system loaded to send it. Dr. Howard is going to work tomorrow and see if he can come up with a better system, and we are getting together on Friday. I got home from my deposition at nine at night, and have to be at a motion tomorrow, it will be a two hour drive to get there.
I am working on it, and next year, when the club is going to try to do it, I am sure it will work. This year? I just don’t know.

Friday before a week before, well you know

Now I am testing my second try, after Zoe tried to fix things. I think it is working. I am in the mood I always get at this time, I don't want to go to the National. I know I will forget the names of my good friends, people will laugh at me for being so thin, I will not be able to sleep because the cock roaches at the motel will be dancing all night, Tedi will get sick again, my car will break down, I will fall in love with a puppy that someone else owns, and I won't be able to find a good hot dog.

I will miss the office, they will party all week, collections will drop off, and payday will come too soon when I get back.

But, as in every other year, some place on the plane, about an hour after leaving I will be so ready for a dog show, that I want to get off early. But, I won't.

I test the camera Wednesday, and will let you know how it works. For now, I need to go talk to Tedi so she can again tell me why I want to go to the National.

Just another test

Zoe is working some sort of magic, (I know, that should be my job), but she has put me on a new Google account to the Blog. I don't know what it will do, how it will do it, but if it works, that is good enough for me. I am testing it here, as I avoid working, and if it works, then I will have Zoe use it for the Blog and the List.

Next to the last Friday

I begin my last trial before the National, next week. It is scheduled for five days, and even the attorneys on the other side, (7) won't be able to drag it out and make me miss The Big Show.  Things are coming together, Zoe is still working on finding us a way to do streaming video, and I may be required to buy a camera, and I have commited to it.  Rather than being committed as some have suggested.

There are two shows in Southern California this weekend, so I am ignoring the strong need to be in the office to prepare for trial, and plan to attend.  We always have to remember what is important. Assuming all goes well, the Blog will be ready, I will be tanned and rested, my typing hands will be strong, the weather will be great, and The Show will go on.

This is yet another test of the Blog, and as meaningless as what I plan to do at the National.  I hope to see all of you there.

My bad

As expected, my first post to the Blog is a major blunder.
I am in court every day this week, then next week I begin a trial that is set for five days. I will be attending two local dog shows this weekend and in the office half days to prepare for that trial. The following Monday before the national I will try to eliminate any work needed for the week, and on Tuesday head to Texas.
I plan to be there, please come by and say hello and decide if I have any brain cells left.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.

First of the national blogs

This is more of a test than anything else. I am trying the new address to see if it will go to the Blog, and the showlist.  I think it will, since I was instructed by Zoe how to do this, and she is the king, (or maybe the queen).

It is now the time of the year, when I start to stress and dread the national. It is not that I don't want to go, but I don't want to go. I have two majors trials to finish yet this month, then the day I get back I start a trial in San Diego, (a two hour drive), that is going to last at least two weeks. So, I am trying to finish everything before I go, and find a way to keep the office from not holding a week long party.

Each year it is the same, and so far, every year I get there, and have a great time. It is that time of the year when everything stops, and we just get to enjoy our great breed.  I have faith again that I will be there, and I am looking forward to it. I don't like to fly, I no longer enjoy traveling, I hate motels, and were it not for you, my friends, and those who will become my friends, I probably would stay home.

Zoe is still looking into finding a server to do steaming video. Considering my limited learning ability, and the time left, I am unsure if we will have it or not.

If I get there, I promise to give out more of this drivil, and remember, there is a delete key on every keyboard.
