Stud Dog Brood Bitch

It is the stud dog- brood bitch PRESENTATION in the ring.

ARIES.  First is Aries. He looks great, and in come his champions. 19 progeny, and what a group. Now, there is one hell of a presentation.  I see lots of movement, and energy.  It took the whole ring and when they went around it took your breath away.

BRONSON. He is an Aries son.   There is a big stallion dog, with Jimmie on the lead.  Ten in there and all seem to have good fronts, lots of pigment, and different styles. He certainly works with different bitches.

OSCAR: Stealing The Show.  He is another Aries son. I love the Aregon dog, and while there were twelve in there, and what a collection of good animals.  That shows great top-lines and rear drive.

BONO.  And The Beat Goes On.  A tribute, since he has passed.  Only three but dark bi-colors on three of them.  Made a good presentation for Bono.

HEAVENLY EXPECTATION: A Ben Grandaughter.  (Hell, I am doing this, I can say what I want.)  She shows the ability to produce with but two progeny shown here.

OLYMPUS FIRE: Four real good Aires progeny, and I have always like that bitch, and I don't know how old she is, but she looks great still.

PANDEMONIUM:   Six shown and a real type from that bitch.  A tribute to her breeding.

It was interesting, but sure shows the dominance of one type and one line.  Another Bench Show Committee.  No more news than that. If I find out, so will you.

Bred By Bitches

Bred By Bitches. Twelve in the class. It has slowed down in here. He just finish the individuals on the first group.   There they go around.  Now the second group is in there.  I ran into Ed Barritt and I won't say where we were. I wonder why Fasonos don't name a dog Ed Bearitt?

I need more to occupy my mind. Clearly I have lost interest in the show. Gloria did a great job of judging and Lee is doing well too. It is me, not them.

Fred Freemen is on the first dog, Fantasyy-Landsend Patchaground. Now Tiffany with her pink jacket.  She has Joelle's Aramist Tanbarks Kia.  Katelyn Mayle has Stone Gait's Chasing The Wind. The crowd loves that little girl and the bitch looks good too.   Next is Jodi Belanger with Fonseca's Serendipity.  Kent has Kaleef's Alexis V Kenlyn.  Last is Steve Grainger with Hickory Hills Elektra.

Bill Burggraaf came by and mentioned ice cream - a few minutes later Evan left and asked me (Tony Szczuka) to fill in; he looked like he had ice cream on his mind.

Lee is done with individuals, and is looking over all of the dogs.  He is having the entire group go around.  Is is after 2pm here, and we still haven't had a lunch break; but the stands are still full.  Lee looked at the first group once again; and then sent them back and brought the first group back in.  Once around as a group; and then once around individually . . . He pulled out 3 from the first group; and pulled 3 from the second group.  Once around as a group; a quick shuffle, and he is done.  First is Jeff Pyle with Foxhaven Myjoy Good Girl; Second is Kent Boyles with Kaleef's Alexis V Kenlyn; Third is Steve Grainger with Hickory Hills Elektra; and fourth is Jodi Belanger with Fonseca's Serendipity.

Evan is back with a Taco Salad - he seems to be enjoying himself.  Is is now 2:40pm and we are setting up for Stud Dog / Brood Bitch (only about 2 ½ hours behind schedule).  The only thing on the schedule for the afternoon is Am Bred Dogs & Bitches.  Hopefully it will go quicker than the morning.

Thanks to Tony for doing this, and don't tell anyone I ate a salad. It is not good for my image.

Novice Bitches

Another class. I got to talk to Ed Barritt. I realized one of the reasons I enjoy going to the national is I get to see Ed again.  I enjoy talking to him, he has a great perspective on life, and we agree on many things, but not all.  He always makes me laugh.

Lee is back in the ring, and I notice outside the ring there is a lot of hostility, and frustration. I think it might be the weather. Jimmie and Sheree are standing in front of me.  I don't understand how Jimmie can have so much gray hair, and she has none.  Debbie Hokanan was by a little earlier, and now everyone is out getting lunch and missing the Novice Bitch class.

Sheree Moses is talking to us.  She lost her dinner tickets and it was a full table. They were turned in, so all is well. I talked to Randy Chessnut today, and he is still grinning. I spent some time with Lew Bunch. We solved a lot of the world problems, at least as they affect us.

Lee is doing a good job again, and he has a brown suit that must have been tailored it fits so well.  Donna Callibrese is talking to Lew and Nicky Bunch now,a nd Kevin Renolds came by to chat. I see that the seats are full again with Novice Bitches in the ring.  They enlarged the ring and have one big ring and one smaller one. They take all the dogs and bitches in the small ring and bring them out one at a time.

Lee is done with the individuals and now is working with half the class seven bitches.  It is quiet now and there goes Linda, Diane, Jody, Scott, and three more. When they get to the other side of the ring, I can't see them as well. The ring is about 2/3 of the full ring with a white side. Lee approaches them and gives some instruction with Linda in front and she tells the double handler to be quiet, and takes a lap by herself. I guess he said a loose lead because that is what she give him.  Now Diane, and she does the same. She always does a good job, and slows her bitch down.

I just got a picture of my Best of Breed Bitch from Canada. Now I know why I put her up.

Lee has half the class go around.  Bob Dresher is getting some flack about announcing, and the upcoming Parade of Greats, or Stud Dog class or something. Joanie Tuthill came by.    I see Lee has his dogs lined up.  There is a big conference in front of us, Lew Bunch, Gail and The Guz as to the schedule.

I was so involved in talking that they finished the class. First is Regency's Pochahontas V Kiridler, Second is Kebre's Pop Fly Of Bon Jen, Third is Windy Acres Capital Gains V J-Lyn and Fourth is Long-Peak Chantilly V Windsong.

Frank Fazano is here and adding to the confusion.  When the break is has everyone confused. I guess we will just wait and see when it is.

On to Bred By.

Novice Dogs

Sam Colvan came by and Dave Rinke is standing next to me talking.  Novice Bitches are in now and it is quiet.  I have been talking and not typing so to let you know what is going on. Gloria is judging, there are dogs in the ring, and they are in groups. She takes the first of five.

Evan made the mistake of asking Zoe to type HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

Gloria has one dog in the ring at a time for the individuals. Pretty quiet now ...

Bud Drew stopped by. I saw Bob Moore,

Lunch Break after Novice Bitches - Stud Dog presentation during lunch,

Evan is back. He's gone.  Out to lunch for E-Man

Last Hope Safe Haven wants an announcement

Last  group now being looked at and being moved around,. First group is back in.

Now they are all back in.  370, 367, 379, 380 and 382 are all that is left.  379, 367,370 and 382t. Here's EVAN

Thanks to Zoe, I had to run some lunch tickets out to Agility. Boy, those folks are real hardy people. It is close to freezing out there, and rain. I am glad to get inside where it is just cold as all hell.

First is Echo-Cham's Donatello, Second is Ponca Hill Tantara's Snake Fever, Third is Hicliff's Nash V Kenlyn and Fourth is Karizma's Fab4-George Von Loar Kaleef.

Chuck Farrell come by to say hello, and he and Zoe are trading secrets.  Carole Moore walked by and Bill Basu said that Dave Lassitor called him right after Magic Marker went in and said how good she looked.  It is indeed a new world.

We are going to go through American Bred today. We will have a lunch break after Bred By, so More to come.

12-18 Bitches

Now to the bitches. I saw Jimmie for a minute and he was trying to get through the crowd.  I see Bob Eaton is working the crowd, and I miss Jeff Mobeus.  He didn't come Phil Miller came by to talk to us, and I see Dania talking to Liana New. Patty came by to talk to her husband, and the three of us are working hard.

Less has a big group of bitches in there. I count 17.  But, that is not official. Bill Hope and Clara Dean are taling and I see that Sandy Anderson is working wearing a red apron.  Lees has the groups divided and is going over the first bitch. Lanna leaned out her window and wants the people to get away from the camera.  Gary decided not to say anything.  Pam O'Dell came by and is looking good.  I haven't seen Paula yet, so I suppose she is working Harley. Melissa Chavez came by to say she saw my comment.  She looks gerat today. Revonne Storrer came by, now that is one pretty woman. Zoe is here too and talking to us.

Bob Grady is wearing a lime green jacket.  There's Paula. I see the crowd like Georgie's bitch it is Schatter Bountiful Harvest. I like her too.  Paula is here and thought she lost her umbrella, but she didn't.  I also talked to Don Knight, and there goes Linda Bankhead.  I have lost interest in the ring, and soon it will be time to pick and I will get more involved.  Tedi's sister is here from Michigan, and she drove down with a girlfriend. They are going to dinner and I was told I can't go, it is for girls only.  So, I guess I will go. Everyone seems to be milling about, and I guess I am notthe only person out of it.  They like the one with Abby, Windy Acres' All Myu Luvin'.  I also agree. By the way, Bob Grady is in a lime suit, not just a jacket.  Now Ken Tank is in the ring with a sable Garter;s Undeniable. This will be Ken's last national as a handler. He is going to be published as a judge. Richard Sottille and Bob Freenyt just came by.  The Guz is talking to Bob.

I got to say hello to Holly again from Minisota, and introduced her to a few people I talked to Randy Chessnut, and also said hello to Jamie Walike.  I see Art Sinclair talking to Cappy and Al talking to Joanna Rand. Sharon Avery is talking to us and I see Ed Barritt is working the crowd,a nd Bart is here now. Karen Wagner is talking to Bob, and there is judging going on. Zoe is working the crowd. Kent just took his bitch around and in comes Mike. Cathy Potter is talking to Cindy Tellefson. Everyone walks by and waves. I feel they are trying to avoid talking to me. That makes sense.

I just got to talk to Meghan Ingram, and although I am feeling older than dirt after talking to her, it was fun to see another pretty young girl, who was with Revonne, who I also mentioned earlier.

The judging goes on. Bill Leonard came by to say hello and remind us that we are still both alive.  I see Lee is still judging.    Kent, is the last in the group, it is Patti, Joanne, Grace, Ken, JR, Boots, Olivia and Kent.  I may have gotten a few names wrong, so blame it on Flower Boy. Lee is doing temperament, and so far only one didn't pass, and she was excused. Lee asks them to stand and let the dog stand loose.  The handlers don't fool around and they let him do the full test.  Some of the bitches don't want to stand, but Lee walks around to make sure he gets his hand on all of them.

Now they take another pass. Eight of them.  He pulls Joanne, Abby, JR and Kent. He sends the rest to the back ring. I thinnk those are his winners, it is Joanne with Mari-Fiories Black Eyed Susan, then Abby with Windy Acres' All My Luvin, third is JR Shadow Acres Striptease Encore-Cantar, and fourth is Tazzman's Ariel with Kent. From here on in, I am going to use handlers not dog names.
Kelly Saveles is standing in front of me, and seems to have a boy-friend, or maybe just a good friend.

I just figured this out, and Mike has Caronlon AQED Calista Star Child Faithrock. Now Kent and the crowd is picking some favorites.  I just met someone else. I only know her name is Megan, and we found her glove. It fit, so we gave it to her. An OJ moment.  I did see Paula in the stands.

Martha Simonette just walked by with a big smile on her face.  I see the crowd has favorites and Lee just has the four.  There goes Joanne, and the crowd does like the movement on that bitch and so do I. Now Abby with her bitch and great timing and balance, with tons of type.  Now Jr, and a very good stylish bitch with great follow through and a good front. Kent with a very dark short coupled bitch with good extension on both ends.

He stops thema nd tells Kent to take his bitch in front and move them around so there they go. Kent, Joann, and he moves Joanne to the front. Maybe everyone gets a chance in front, it is Joanne, Kent, Abby and JR, and YES, THAT'S IT.

All those in the other ring leave.  First is Mari-Fiori's Black Eyed Susan, Second is Tazzman's Ariel, Third is Windy Acres' All My Luvin, and Fourth is Shadow Acres Striptease Encore-Canotar.

12-18 on Thursday

I said a gret deal of real interesting stuff, but for some reason my computer shut down. In the ring is Abby, Linda, Moris, Kent, Lenny and Al.  Barbara and Stacy came by. I saw Ken and Bill Tank, so Ken just got in. Charley Mardez is here, and I see Sharoon Avery is doubling her dog.  Gloria has the first class in the ring, and has divided them in half, and is working the first half.

I see Carolyn Martello here and the seats are full already, and there they go around in a group of four.  Lots of yelling and bells.  I heard that Leslie was treated and released from the hospital yesterday. If I get more new, I will let you know. Morris goes to the front , then Ken, then Al, Linda, Abby and Lenny.  Morris Sanhedrin's Learning To Fly, Kent has Signature's Hell's Kitchen V Kaleef.

It's a new group.  Art Sinclair with Morberge's GI Joe of Clayfield, then Adelhunds Pocket Full of Gold with Liz Oser, then Tiffany with Chablis Stylistic Custom Design V Sugartree Joelle, then Olivia with Gretchanya's The Matador, Saddlecreeks Tall Dark and Handsom with Graig Eschette, Jimmie with Karizma's Born To Run Kaleef Von Loar.  Now Liz is up, (I will leave it up to you to know who the dog is.)   Hunter Tank just said hello to me.  Tiffany is up with a pink top and a sable dog. Born To Run.  Now the class is over. Now the class.

There goes Art in front, Liz, Tiffany, Olivia and Jimmie.  I know way too many people. Gloria tells them to set them up and they lookd great.  Three sables, Liz, Tiffany and Jimmie. She goes over Art's dog, then down the line, and checks what seems to interest her. She pushs the croup of the second dog, and runs the court of Tiffany's and Just looks at Jimmie's .  I remember how Ralph used to show us everything he didn't like.

And off they go for another pass.  Gloria Rice came by and I just saw Charlonna. Now Gloria has Liz in front, then Jimmie and Tiffany.  Sables in the first three places.

Now, in comes the next group.  Morris, Kent, Al, Linda, Abby and Lennie.  There they go.  Pat Ayres came by and gave a lei to Tedi, and he is one of the best of them all. Gloria is looking over the group, and goes over each of them. No one can say everyone didn't get a great look bot by Gloria and Lee.  Ed Barrit is here to abuse me, and it is as I expected. I saw Charlie and Kate Mardez, and he told me he put up the same bitch to breed as I did in Canada.  Norma Hansburg is her. \Jammie came by looking beautiful as always and said to say hello to mom Barb.  It is when I see kids like Jammie all grown up that I feel this old.  They go down and back in front of us, but I don't "Soria yells at them, slow, loose, and she gets it, and they looks better that way. She goes over to the group and looks and moves Morris to the front, then Al, and Kent.  They go to the corner, and she leaves three against the wall, and turns to the next group.  Liz goes around the other group,a nd the three sables rule. She walks to them and sets the sables over to the corner, and sends the other two to the wall group,a nd pulls them out.  There are five of them.  She sends them to the other ring to think about what might have been, (I think). And works with who she kept in the other groups, Morris, Kent, Al, Liz, Jimmie and Tiffany. And they take a pass and stop at the white wall. They stack them up.  I love the outline of Kent's dog. And Jimmie, Al and Tiffany go around.  I just got a phone call from Tedi's sister to tell Tedi to turn her phone on. So I gave her the message.

It is Morris, Kent, Liz, Jimmie, Al and Tiffany, but Al and Tiffany are against the wall. The Sable with Liz was Bob's reserve dog.  Pam O'Dell came by and said the Blog wasn't going out yesterday.  And there they go again and I think this might be it, but Gloria has her arms folded, and is looking hard at these four, Morris still in front, Kent, Liz and Jimmie. She goes over to them and looks and talks to Liz and says something to her, and Liz is talking to her and Liz takes her by herself and now the Crowd goes nuts, and there is a 20 foot loose lead, and Liz stops and takes him again,a nd he takes some great and some good steps. Gloria moves her to second.  Gloria gives some direction to Morris, and there they go, again as a group.  Walking now, and Morris goes by himself,   He has Learning To Fly. Now Liz. I think Gloria is giving us all a chance to see each one and she applauds them as they go,a nd now Jimmie with Born to Run. And that is the first four. Glooria sends Kient with Hell's Kitchen, and we have them all.  Gloria walks over to the four, and has her hands behind her back.  She goes up to Morris and looks at the dog.  He breaks his stance, but she looks hard at him. Now she looks at Liz's and now walks up to them and talks to them both. Liz nods, and it looks like sh is thining about the two of them.  Gloria gestures and wants just the two fo them to take a lap,a nd there they go.  Morris in Front, and Gloria bends down to look and looks and looks and Liz is taking him against the back wall.  She stands in front of Morris and has her arms crossed and looks and looks. The dog is a dark Black and tan. Now she looks at the sagle and the crowd is into it. She walks around the dog and Liz stacks him and Gloria looks and looks.  Now Gloria walks away, turns around and walks back and tells them to take another pass, and this time with Liz in front. WOW is this a crowd and Gloria looks at them in this way and she walks faster and leans down and shakes her head.

When they stand, the Sable is terrific.  The sable sits and the crowd and Gloria laughs.  They are both great dogs, Gloria brings them all together with Liz in front. They stack And, That's it.

That waw exciting. First was Adelhund's Pocket Full Of Gold, Second was Sanhedrin's Learning To Fly, Third was Karzma's Born To Run, and Fourth was Signature's Hel's Kitche V Kaleef.

More to come.

9-12 Bitches

9-12 puppy bitches.    I like what I see in the ring, and it is a full class.  It is quiet again, and I think the crowd is getting tired.  I see Jane Kerner with Big Dave standing in front of us.  Bill Bergraff is here, and he is doing a great job with the National.  Lee is doing them one at a time, and this is going to take a while.

Carman and Dan Dwyer are here and it is very slow now. I think most people are ready to go home, or to the seminar. I know Tedi wants to go, but I have to rearrange my socks in the drawer, so I can't go.  Lee still looks good, and I think he is doing a great job.  All that matters is my opinion anyway.

Gary has turned in for the night, he has four dogs to take care of, and so it is just me and Tony. The Voice Of The National, Bob Dresser is off working the crowd. That reminds me, I also miss Twyla, it isn't the same without her.

Tiffany is here now, and out of her handling clothes.   I see Lew Bunch is here and I guess people will be coming as the days go by.  He is talking to The Guz and Sharon Avery. Sharon has the pictures from yesterday available with some moving pictures too.

I lost track of what he is doing and there they are, First was Whitside's Then Came Me, Second is Masstana's Midnight Celebrtion, third is Sequel's Tango V Bleibtreau, and fourth is Trio's Loil Mz Can't B Wrong.

I am sorry for not posting more, but there was a problem and a bench show committee called.  There was some bad language used, and a suspension issued.

We are done, and so I will be back tomorrow.  Thanks has to go out to Lanalee, and Lew for the streaming video, and the work being done.

9-12 Dogs

The 9-12 Puppy dogs are in.

Ginny Altman is here and actually has her hands on my shoulder. That is the high point o f the national for me so far.  I am easy.  She did say to say hello to everyone, and she looks terrific. She wants me to say my t-shirt says BM on the front. They don't believe it is for Blog Man, and think it has to be a comment on my regularity.  I live such a sheltered life, and at my age, that works for me.

I have been talking to Ginny and Gloria is down to six and they are the best ones. They go around and Gloria hasn't placed them yet, so she looks them over, and are stacked against the white wall.  I am wrong that is all there were in the class. Patty Szyncyk  corrected me. Elizabeth is in front then Steve Larosa Kent Ariela, and one more.

Now Kent is moved to second with Anne-Isles Promise Keeper, and in front is Robinhaus Apollo, and third is Frohlich's Mario JDM Tanglewood and fouth is Breezewood's Genuine Damascus Steele.

They pose and take another run with just the second and third one, Apollo and Mario JDM.  They stay the way they are, and stack the dogs. And, that's the way it is.

First is Anne-Isle's Promise Keeper, Second is Robinhaus Apollo, third is Frohlich's Mario JDM Tanglewood and fourth is Breezewood's Genuine Damascus Steele.

Now for the last class of the day.  And, just in time.

6-9 Puppy bitches

It is on to 6-9 puppy bitches.  Lee is in the ring.

I do miss so many this year. I wish Helen Fisher were here, and I know many aren't here that can't be, but they are missed.  Not just those who are gone, but those I see each year, and can't this time.

In the ring are the puppies, and Lee broke them into two groups.  Nancy McDonald came by, and so did JR.  Ellen Migliori came by, another girl that gets younger.  Maybe my eyes are getting older and they are staying the same.

Lots of nice young girls and puppies too.  I have to admit the general attitude is a bit laid back. Joe Larosa walked by and Big Dave is standing in front of me. It is nice to be at eye level with him for one time. Rick Oslowski cam by for just a minute.

There is some intrigue, but I can't say anything yet. I will, as soon as I can.

Paula has not returned, she thinks I am ignoring her. I am trying until she bring Harley to the ring on Saturday.

I did get a commitment to help me with special posting, but now I forgot who promised to do it.  I need to work on my memory.  If only I could remember to do it.

Boy, there are some good looking puppies in there.  I am thinking there might be three groups, not two. Blame Tony, I listened to him.  He admitted to me that he screwed up. I like it when they take responsibility for mistakes. I do the same. If there is a mistake in my post, blame Flower Boy. He will be here tomorrow to accept.

There is a more relaxed feel this year. I am not sure why, but I like it.

Lee is down to his last eight, and they are in there now.  Each gets a trip around and the crowd has favorites. There are no empty seats, so I don't know what is going to happen on Satruday, and he pulls Alex with Ranita's Born To Run V Challenge Haus, then Heinerburg's Gone withThe Wind Depahl, and he goes with first is Ranita's Born To Run V Challenge Haus, Second is Heinerburg's Gone With The Wind Depahl, Third is Karizmas Chiffon Von Loar, and fourth is Scherzar's Wicked.

Paula just came by to say she gave drugs to Zoe, and wanted credit for doing so. I hope no drug agency is reading this.  The winner is a good looking bi-color. Very dark, and deserves the win.

More to come.

6-9 Puppy dogs

Here they come, the 6-9 puppy dogs.  Gloria is in the ring, and I am talking to Pam Stoesser.  It looks like eleven dogs and lots of number and handlers.  Gloria is counting and put five aside in the other ring, and has six to work with, and off they go.  Lots of bells and whistles.  Marty Rinke just ran into Liz Leshhorn and Robert went by leaving Liz. I see Dave Rinke is here too, and he is so tall, and seems to get taller each year. He is talking to Jane Kerner.  I sat with Cappy for a while.

Zoe came by and she is having trouble seeing, but she is here. I wanted her to type, but she said if she can't see, she can't type.

Gloria finished with her first group, and is working with the next ones. She put some aside, and is working with the other group.  Olivia let and the rest are there, I think she might have gotten it wrong, but she knows more than I do. There still are ten in there and she sends three out, and now there are seven.  And one leaves, and then there were six.

They all take a run and all six take a slw walk.  Sylvane, Kate, Diane, and Kent, and the other two stand off to the side, Scott and Jeff.  Then there were four taking the run.  In front is Alkara's Paso Doble and Gloria approaches and looks at them and Kent is in fourth and Diane in third with Laugh Laugh Laugh of Edan, Kent has Signature's Harry Nile-V-Kridler.  In second is Gsdstyle's Johnny B Godde V Windover Abijah with Abby.  There they go in that order, and Gloria looks them over and walks towards them and they are walking slow and easy and they stop. Gloria looks them over and the first one started in front when they went in, and Gloria wants them down and back.

Art Sinclair just came by and is ready to handle.  They all go down and back, the dogs, not Art, and she walks to the front with two against the wall and four in front.  Or, four on the floor for those my age.

Gloria says to take them around again, and there they go.  It has been about an hour with the class but there they go, at a slow walk, Sevain is doing a great job in front Gloria looks determined and she is watching and stops them.  She has them stand and stands back to look at them.  She moves Abby to the front, then Kent, Savine and Diane,a nd That's the way it is going to be.

First is GSDSTYLE'S JOHNY B GOODE V WINDOVER ABIJAH, second is SIGNATURE'S HARRY NILE-V-KRINDLER, third is ALKARAH'S PASO DOBLE, and fourth is LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH OF EDAN.

More to come.

Maturity Bitches and Best in Maturity

I am leaving they are in the ring. It is up to Tony now.  I missed the first couple of dogs, but Lenny is up next with You Bet Your Asp.  Jeff Pyle is next with Hickoryhills Raspberry Beret.  Some nice applause as he goes around.  Next is Tanbark-Joelle Tanzanite of Chablis.  She is getting faster as the crowd   I got called away, and came back just as Gloria finished the first group.  She takes everyone around as a group, and starts looking them over one by one.  Gloria steps back and suveys the entire group .  They go around one more time, and she pulls up Raspberry Beret, Tanzanite, Shadyrock's cotillion, and TR Marnett's Deal Breaker.  One more time around and Deal Breaker moves to third.  One last look, and she sets them aside to look at the second group.

First up is Jimmy Moses with Ch Kridler's Nutmeg v Signature.  Duty called and I missed the entire group individuals.  But the entire second group is back in the ring.  One quick look, and Gloria has them go around as a group.  They stop and set up, and Gloria goes down the line touching each dog.  And around as a group one more time.  Starting at the back of the line, she asks each dog for a down-and-back.  One more long look and she pulls up Nutmeg and Enchanted American Anthem, Clayfield Brier Rose, and Hickoryhill's Magic Marker.  She keeps Nutmeg and American Anthem and dismisses the rest.  Then she pulls in the first group.  She only keeps Raspberry Beret and TR Ro' Elsia v Anne-isle from the first group.  She moves Nutmeg to msecond behind Raspberry Beret.  Anotehr long look. . . . One more time around . . . and the winner is Raspberry Beret.

I am pleased how Markie looked and tickled for Randy.  That was tough competition, and I can't complain. Besides, no one will listen to me anyway.  I love Raspberry and hadn't seen her before.  I would think she will go Select, and both she and Markie won Futurities and Maturities in different regions. The Grangers should be proud.

Evan here.  Markie looked great, and her litter-mate won. So, it's all good.  Now for Best in Maturity Bitch or Dog.  It will be Raspberry against Ray Bearone.  Those are two great shepherds.  How cool, I own the littermate to the Maturity bitch.

Best in Maturity, Winsome's Ray Bearone V Ekolan.

More to come.

Maturity Dog

Here we go with Best in Futurity, and Gloria has the dog and the bitch.    Dania is here and looking as good as always.  I am trying to find out if they are taking a break or not, but so far, no answers.  Karen Wagner is taling to Bob, and I see Tedi walking by. She doesn't even stop to say hello.  Much like at home.

I heard from Tammy, she is out of the hospital. Joan Fox is talking to DD.  I got to wave to Suzie Witmore, but she was too busy to stop.  Gloria is still looking them over, has done the individual on the dog, and is looking at them. That is a nice set of German shepherds and Kent wins with the bitch and Jeff opposite.

Maryellen Kish is here with Bob and the stands are still full.  I did talk to Sandy Anderson for a minute,   I see Bob Eaton, and I did get to hug Martha Rinke, she has lost weight and looks like her daughter.  I also talked to Ed Barritt last night and he also looks great. I wonder if everyone else is healthy and I am the only one getting old?  I still don't see Paula, but she is off playing with Candy Zumwalt.  It looks like they are checking in at the ready ring, so maybe they are going right into Maturity Males.  Yes, there they go into the ring. Tedi came by, our handler wants to get together for a game plan.  OK, if that is what he wants.

I did see Paul and Candy.  Lee is using the two rings too now. He brings them out one at a time and does the individuals then takes each dog around.  It is interesting to listen to Gary and Bob, they have judged so many of the entries and can tell me what they thought of them.

Parry Korsh has a Colt shirt on.  And stopped by. I see Bill Basu looking around.   It is snowing outside, but not in here. Bart Bartley came by to say howdy.  I see that Rita is ringside, and so is Carolyn Martello. Frank is sitting behind her.  I see Channing Sheets in the stands and I met Dan Dwyer in the men's room. He didn't want to shake my hand.

Lee has the dogs in for Maturity and is using two rings like Gloria did.  He does them one at a time, and does the individual and then takes them around the ring alone.    I haven't found anyone to type for Maturity Bitches, so I might just put in the winner.  Tony said he would do it, so you are in luck, and will have someone intelligent posting.

I liked the dog that just went around Winsones Ray Bearone V Ekolan, but I am not judging.  There goes Richard Sottile with Bob Freeny.  Bill Basu is telling Tedi how to double handle our bitch.  Sharon Avery just told us the photos from yesterday are at her booth.  Tedi had Markie jump up to the announcer's stand and let her jump down. I am still waiting for my heart to slow down.

Lee has them all in the ring, and he looks over and walks down the line and looks at each of them, stopping as he goes by.  He looks at some fronts more than othrs, and is at the end of the line. Ten of them in there.

Now he walks to the center and tells them to take a lap, one at a time, there goes Georgie wityh a bi, then Steve Granger.  The cowd likes the dog Alex has, Ch Karizma Cacique of Inquest.  They also seem to like Winsomes Ray Bearone V Ekolan.  Lots of real nice dogs, it will be interesting to see if the quality holds up in Specials.  It looks great for the future of our breed.  Here goes The Guz with Kaleef's Chochise V Kienlyn.

He wants to see Ray Bearone again, so Liz takes him out.  Lee is walking over YES, he wins it.

Futurity bitches

Gloria is in the ring with the bitches.  She is having them all go over to the other ring, and brings them in one at a time, and does a loose lead exam, and then stacks them for the camera, and takes them around.

Lee had a good procedure and certainly gave everyone a good look.  He got the best ones, and I think he did a great job. That bodes well for the rest of the week. Of course, Gloria always does a good job.

I got to see Jane again, and howded to Mike Cheeks, and Leslie came by.  I see Edie Trokie, and there goes Iliana.  Paula wants me to mention her, but I don't see her.

Gloria has the class divided in two, and works the first group, puts them in the other ring, and brings in her other group.  She lets four go and keeps four.  I see Sean, Kent and a couple of others out of the ring.  All four of us are here, Gary, Bob and Tony.  Iliana just stopped for a minut, and I see Ellen Migliore talking to Pam Stoessor.

Frank Fasano is standing in front of us,a nd yelling for a bitch with bill Tank, Eko-Lan Nejin's Encore. He is an owner.

They take a pass around and go right into the other ring. It is interesting. Joanne says to say a good word, she said she is all dressed up and has curls in her ponytal. She gets better looking every year. Carole Michal and Sherry Ryan, from Springfield Ill. That is a good looking group of women.

Jimmy is in this group, Katy, Jerry, The Guz, Jimmie, Billl Tank, JR and Bill Basu.  She keeps The Guz, Jimmy and Bill, and lets the rest go. Now it is Georgie with Lyloak's Fresca, Kent with Kaleef's Alexis V Kenlyn, and she moves them, and has the Guz in front, then Jimmie then Bill.  The Guz has Long's Peak Ginger Bread Cookie, Jimmie has Kaleef Katerina V Kenluyn and Bill has Eko=lan N'EJm's Encore.  The other three are in the ring being looked at.  Kent has Kaleef's Alexis V Kenlyn, George has Lyoak's Fresca, and they go down and back. Three with Gloria and three over in the other ring.

She is looking them over, and she pulls the other three out to take a pass. The other three go to the other ring.  Now the Guz, Jimmie and Bill.  Gloria takes them down and back. It isn't easy to see from up here, so watch the video.

Don Knight came by and I see Karen Taylor walking by and she rearranges them.  Gloria calls the other group out and puts them in some order, Kent then Lizim Car'es Dirty Deeds, George, The Guz, Bill and Jimmie.  Gloria tells us all to give them a hand, what a beautiful group of six bitches.  She moves Bill to third and Kent is still in front.  She sends the last three to the wall,a nd it is Kent, The Guz and Bill, I think it is going to be Kent, and YES it's Kaleef's Alexis V Kenlyn.

More to come.

Futurity Dogs

Bob The Judge Dresser is here now, and he has a higher chair, as does Tony. They are both above me, which makes sense.  This is a good setup for me, and I see Sharon Avery came by.

Gloria is in the ring and two entries in Amateur Futurity, it is Dosta's You Had Me At Wow and Jdm's Canda Hills of Tanglewood.  Only two. Gloria has a black dress and looks to be having a good time. This is Ameteur Futurity Bitches, I guess she is doing bitches first.

I still am not a fan of Amateur Futurity/Maturity, but others are, and I think it does serve a purpose. It gets more people involved and doesn't seem to take that much time away from the National, so maybe I am wrong.

JR just came by.  We are sort of central to everyone so they all come by at some time.  It is sort of quiet, but it is early. I think the show before the show, brought more people here.

Gloria is talking to them, but I can't hear her. She said something to us, and now is taking them one at a time.  The crowd is into it for only two bitches.

That's it, first is Donsta's You Had Me At Wow, and second is Jdm's Canoa Hills Of Tanglewood.

Now Lee Brown is doing Amateur Maturity with Nyledge One Hot Ticket in the ring, only one, so I assume he will win.  A good looking handler.

Gloria is back for Amateur Futurity Dogs, and there are three in there.  Heather the parmedic came up to sit with us so the show isn't that boring for her.  First is Melana's Eye Candy.

Next us is Enchanted's American Anthem, the Love Makes the World Go Round of Edan.

First is Love Makes The World Go Round of Edan.

Best Amateur Futurity Bitch is First is Love Makes The World Go Round of Edan Best Opposite sex is Melana's Eye Candy

Now Lee is going to do the Dogs.  Since all the Amateur Futurity dogs were absent, Best in Amateur Maturity was the winner Ivyledge One Hot Ticket.  Tony had to help me with this, I am learning.

On to Futurity Dogs.  They are in the ring and I see there are thirteen, so I am going to just announce the winner.  Lee has them in a group, and is talking to them. I think you can see it on the Video, and I don't know what he is saying, but now they spread out.  And one at a time. Some temperament problems, but nice looking dogs.

I have to find someone to do the Maturity Bitches.  Tedi said I have to help double handle.  I hate it when I have to do stuff like that. Isn't that against the rules?

It is quiet in here, and Lee is looking at 13 dogs. They said that they are not going to wait for anyone, so this will go fast. Lee insists on a loose lead, and Joanne had to make three passses.  Nancy Harper came by and waved.  There are few seats left, it is going to be crowded by the end of the week.  I see Christine and Steve Granger standing in front of me.  They have two bitches in the Maturity.  I found out who Boots and Pretty Young Girl is.  Her name is Katy Bruce, but she will always be Boots to me.

There are three sections of seating. I was sort of offended to see White, but it wasn't Whites Only. There are Blue, (states) and Red, (states), but I guess red, white and blue, is OK in America.  Gary Szynczk came by and is up on the stand with us.  It is a bit crowded with all of us, but no one has fallen off yet.

Candy Zumwald and Paula came by.  Paula is all off her feed because I only mentioned her once.  You should see the way she is trying to walk.  If she starts to walk normal, I might talk more about her. I guess herding did her in.  Gail Hardcastle is all in red and black and stopped by.  Gary is on the microphone, and Lee is taking them around one at a time.  The crowd is into it now, and lots of noise.

Lee has picked four, All That Matters of Edan, Hickoryhills Krytonite, Ch Lyloak's First Knight and Ann-Isle's Patrick.  There they go, the rest are out of the ring.  I see Tish talking to Gail, and now Bob Bergraff is talking to them.

It is getting down to it, and this crowd is into it. I haven't seen this much interest in a Futurity before.  Diane, Jeff, Georgie and Kent. Diane with All That Matters, and Kent with Patrick.

Lee takes them twice two at a time, and then switches them and takes them again, and puts them back with All That Matters in front.  Now George with First Knight and Kent with Patrick.  He switches them and there they go again.  And now they switch back.  In the order they were and he says all together and the whole ring.  AND JEFF GETS IT WITH KRYTONITE.

Where Type Movement and Temperament come  together

Before the beginning in Ohio

Here I am, early at the arena. It is bright in here, cold as hell outside. I have a seat above it all, in the Command Central. There are going to be two of us up here, and we have to use a ladder to get up here, but it is 30 feet from the ring.  The seats are on three sections, each about a foot above the one in front, and right up to the ring.

I see a lot of people here already but everyone is milling about. I said hello to Sally who has great stuff again this year.  I spent a few minutes talking to Gail (our President for those who have forgotten), who looks terrific. She is happy and working the tables with the catalogs, which I got. The stalls are full, and Bobbie is here with shorts to take pictures, and he says he isn't cold, but it is 44 outside.

Tony just came by, I guess he will start up here with me. I may go down with the unwashed for the show, it is more fun for me if I can talk to people, and it makes my Blog more interesting if I am not thinking about what I am writing.

Bob Grady came by with white pants, but a blue blazzer, he works hard all show, and gets too little credit. I saw Kathleen Strong, and Julie Hamerabi, (I know that isn't right but it is the best I can do).  Dorothy Lynn just walked by and gave a wave. I do feel outside the crowd, and will probably not stay here.  I do have seats in the stands, so that is where I might do the posting.  They are going to start any time now, so folks are starting to get seats.  I seem to be command central, everyone is asking me questions and I have no answers, as usual.

Randy Chesnut came by to talk about our littermates who will be in the Maturity, since they both won.  THE JUDGE IS HERE.   Bob Dresher just climbed into the booth.  Alex came by to shake hands, and was able to reach me in the issolation booth.  That does remind me that I will need someone to post from here during the Maturity Bitches.  My feet are already cold, and so I am not sure what the day will bring.

I see Bill Bergraff is in the ring organizing stuff. He is doing a great job. I was reflecting last night the great job those who ran our Nationals have done. Kathy Steen was so classy, Deberah always had such a great smile, Nancy Nellis had every little detail so organized and now Bob seems to do it with no effort, and from the background. Each of them managed to do what seems an impossible job, and yet do it with style, grace and goodwill. We are fortunate to have had them for our club.

Gloria Birch stopped by to say Good Morning and she had a big smile. I think she will do a great job today, and with Dogs.  I did see Gary Szymczyk, but I didn't get to say anything, he was getting ready for the Opening Cerimonies.  "See, I told you I can't spell".

So you know I am here, I am sending this early, more to come.

Specials on Tuesday

Now we have a dog show. The Specials are in the ring and I see wuch great quality.  We have Ch Tazzman's Aregon, Ch Pastor Burgos, Ch Alfaro's Rambling Man, Ch Shadyrock's Dancing Doll, Ch Candia's Toil N'Trouble, ch Millertine's Sweet N Brassy, PT, and Ch Scharo Ark Fire And Ice.  That is a fun group to look at.  I know who I would pick, but let's see what Bob does. I am tempted to say what I would do, wait for him to do it, then change it to make me look good. But, nothing I have done so far has made me look good, so there is no sense in starting now.

I did watch the streaming video, and if they archive it, so we can look at it when we have time, I will not be blogging any more. A picture is indeed worth a thousand words, and there is no way I can describe these incredible German shepherds.

Now the crowd is into it.  Each takes a pass.  Molly is talking to me, and I may stay in the stands instead.  I just found out the black I liked so much was under me in Canada and I didn't put her up. All I can say is she looked great today. Anna came by to tell me.

The arena is full, I guess people came by to see the Specials, and it is a forcast of the National.  I have Tedi next to me and Cappy with us too, so I might get to learn something. Bob is taking them down and back and now takes them around one at a time.  There goes Jeff, now Lenny, and Bob sends the group back and has three out there, Kent, Sevane, and Jen.  I know Sevane has Pastor Burgess and Kent has Aregon and Jen Rambling Man.  There goes Jeff, and Mellissa , Craig, and then Winner's dog and Winner's bitch.

Bob looks them over, and he has the dogs and bitches separated.  He walks the line and goes to the front, tells Kent to take his dog over, pulls Jeff and also Lenny.  They go to the corner.  He sends the rest to the back, and goes over to the three, It's Aragon, Dancing Doll, and Pastor Burgos. So far.  And he works them again, with Aragon in front, Winner's Dog was Best of Winners and Best opposite sex is Dancing Doll.

That's it for tonight, except for Best Puppy.  I am not sure how I feel about an extra show, but it seems to be a good way to fill the day, and there seem to be more people here than usual.  I am running out of battery, so I will send this now.

More to come tomorrow.  We are done just after three, time to go back to the motel, and then hospitality tonight.  Our handler will be in later, and we will work the bitch tonight.  Molly is here and helped me buy this computer.

Third try from Ohio, after bitches

Bob did a great job, and now on to the bitches. I went to the lunch area and they had something called the giant Texas steak. I don't know what it was but it included a pig and a hammer, lots of grease and a bun that covered 1/10 of it.  It actually was good, if not the worst thing a person could do for their body.

In the ring is Georgie first with Lyoak's Isn't She Lovely, then second is a handler I don't know with River Rock's Straight From The Heart, Jeff with Kaleef Hollow Hill's Shalimar, then Liz with Marquis' All I Ever Wanted.  Jimmy and Sharee are double handling, and the crowd seems to have grown.

Vickie got all dressed up for the show, and looks like I remember her from years ago.  Why am I the only person geting older. Somehow it doesn't seem fair.  I think a lot of people will be coming in tonight, since the seats are about half empty.  Now she is done with the individual and these are very pretty bitch puppies.  There they go, Georgie in front, then the next, then Kent. Only three the first pass.  Seems to be more doubling for bitches, then Jeff and Liz.  I see Linda Bankhead Bankhead is taking to Tedi.

Now she moves Liz to third, and it is George, Kent and Liz.  Then the last two take a pass.

I talked to Bill Bergraff at lunch and he said they are talking about two shows on Tuesday before the national.  We will have to see how they do with this one.

Vickie takes them down and back again, and looks hard at the first two and leaves them, then goes down the line.  Now they set up, and she looks them over, takes the first two and tells them to take one in front then the other.  Only one absentee in the class.

If you go on the video, you can pull up a catalog.  I went to see it, but it was just a video of the empty ring. Not that exciting.  Jimmy has a whistle and very loud.  Kent has his bitch and Sheree is working the other side of the ring.  She has the same whistle.  It seemed to work, Kent is in front and the bitch seems crazy for the whistle.  She won. It is Kent, George, Liz and the handler who I will try to meet later on.

In front of me are Tedi, Rita and Linda. They are eating carrots.  I know there is a meaning to that, but I can't figure out what it might be. I just finished eating a flat, breaded, greasy disk of pork.  That must have some meaning.

First is Nancy McDonald with Long-Peak Chantilly V Windsong, then Kent with Stonebrooks Jackie O and Tiffany with Liberty's Work of Art.  Only three in the class.  The footing still looks good. Tiffiny goes to the the front, it is Tiffiny, then Nancy and Kent, and that's the way it goes.

First is Cindy Tellefson with Mariner's Rhyme of Shadow Acres, the JR with Steppenwind Dg V Cantar, then Jody with Fonseca's Serendipity and Tiffiny with Joelle's Aramist Tanbark's Kia and Steve Granger with Hickory Hills Electra.   It is amazing how well Steve does. I do wish I could go back in the ring, but alas, I am too old and never was that good to begin with.

Larry Parks just called to say he saw us on the video. I went on line and it comes up great. Thanks to Bill Burgraff and to LanaLee who is working the board. It is clear and in real time. As a matter of fact more fun to watch on the video than in person. Of course I have the sound here, and that helps. It is going to be great in Specials.

I got carried away watching the video, and so the winners were first was Steve, then second was JR, third Cindy and Fourth Tiffiny.

Now we have the American Bred Bitches in there and I see ten on them.  First is Sylvain from Canada, with Stonewall's Dirty Look, then Georgie with Lyloak's Fresca, next is Arial with Earsup Hot Ta-Molly of Rallyn, then Nick with Kansten's Evanescense, an unknown but pretty young girl with Rosewood's Ginger Punch, Nancy with Yoncalla's Soul Survivor V Mervern, Kent with Kaleef's Kellie V Kenlyn, Bill Tank Witnh Ken-Delain's Lyzza Jane and Joanne with Tanbark's 2Muchbling Joelle Aramist.  Any mistakes blame on Cappy who came by to kiss me and got me all excited.

I stopped typing for a while and went to talk to my people. What is interesting is that everyone might see what is going on.   Amy Riely is here and was talking to Richard Sottile.

There go the first group, Silvane, George Ariel Nick Federow and the cute girl.  Now, Nancy, Kent, Bill and Joanne.  The crowd seems more into it now, and this is a nice class and not going to be easy to judge.  Joanne's bitch is really streached out.  Now Ariel, the cute girl, Nancy and Bill.  Back to the first five.  The crowd likes Nick's bitch.

I missed the show, but first was Kent, then second was Sevane, third was George and fourth was Joanne.

Leslie is bitching and listening to her talk to Sandy is more fun than the show itself.  Evidently Leslie has pictures of a bunch of them drunk, and is going to try to get some money for them.

Open bitches is an unknown but cute girl with Lindhill's Voodoo Charm, then Kent with TR-Ros Elysia V Anne-Isle, Jeff with Shadyrock's Polonaise, Lenny with Rising Sun's Whisper, Georgie with Woodsides Jada V Stoneyway, and Nick with Shadyrock's Cotillion.  Helen Gleason is talking to us now, and the judging goes on.

Nick goes up front then Lenny, the girl and Kent.  There they go and Nick gets it. On to winner's bitch.
Vickie is working with them, and they have all gone around and she is taking them down and back.  Not much crowd reaction at all. Tedi, Rita and Jane are a covy in front of me. I don't like that they are laughing that much.  I think there might be some evil planning going on.  I think everyone is bored, at least there is nothing going on.  Some noise for the 12 - 18 bitch, Striptease.  Nothing for the rest, so far. Now Pam Stoesser has joined the group up front, and it might get even more intense. It makes me nervous.

Vickie stands back to look at her seven winners and walks to the front and moves Kaleef's Kellie V Kenlyn to the front, and that's the Winner's Bitch.  I like the second one, an all Black, and she is a real picture posed.  I would love to judge her.  She goes down and back.  She goes to the front, and there they go, the Reserve is Stonewall's Dirty Look. That is the black and she is a very nice bitch.

I will send this, then on to Specials.

Terry Rock is behind me, and there goes the 12-18 class.  First is Jeff with Hickory Hills Bow Chica Wow Wow, then Kaleef's Mega Hertz Campeon Tangaree and last is Jodi h Belanger with Woodside's Sheza Rich Girl. I did see Sandy Anderson, but we were heading in the other direction. I will have to talk to her later.  It is amazing how quiet it is in here, and maybe this is how they do shows in Ohio.  It has warmed up a little in here now, but it is still cold.  Richard Sottile is talking on his phone, and is also watching the show.

If you don't like this posting, then let me know and I will change before the National begins.  Tony Zzunka, (I gave up spelling his name years ago) is at the announcer's table, where Bob and I will spend the rest of the show.  I like the arena now that I am used to it. It is big, and maybe not as fancy, but the folliards look good, the booths are at ringside so the vendors can actually watch the show.

Vickie goes down the row to check temperament, then moves Jodie to second and takes them around again, and that's the way it will be, Jeff, Jodie and then Lenny.

Joanne comes in with Mari-Fiori's Black Eyed Susan, JR with Shadow Acres Striptease Encore-Cantar, Suan with  Leslie with Sharo-Ark Hearts On Fire, Kent with Tazman's Ariel, Jeff with Foxhaven-My Joy Good Girl Suan with Tara's Premionition of Edan and someone I don't' know with Woodside's Las Vegas. The reason for the confusing typing is I have no one to help me look, my eyes are not that good, and there is a handler I don't know.  Joanne has a sparkle jacle, and is the fanciest handler in the ring.

The crowd is either bored or tired.  Karen Taylor is ringside with Sandy Anderson.  They are double handling Las Vegas.  He might be at Karen's for conditioning.  I know the Ebertins do use Karen for that.  Some applause for Leslie,a nd there are some good bitches in there.  This may be too much dog show for one week.  I liked what Bob did, and I always enjoy Vickie.   I bought a catalog, OK, I bought two of them, one for Tedi and see ten specials so there is some good stuff coming up.

Lorraine came by from Washington, she is showing Annie in Open at the National.   I see Channing Sheets is here now, and more people are starting to show up. I see Bob Moor ringside, and the crowd likes the bitch JR is showing.  Now, each down and back as Vickie goes down the line.  Eight very pretty bitches.  Helen Lionopilis is sitting in front of me now and will yell at me for using that name.  AKA Helen Gleason.  Now she can't chew me out.  No matter how much I might enjoy it.  Vickie moves Jimmy to second and Jeff to third and Leslie is in fourth.  So far, Joanne is Best Of Dump.  And there go the first four, with JR in front.  Then Kent, Jeff and Leslie.  And they go just like that.

On to Novice. DD came by to ask Don who won.

Where Type Movement and Temperament come  together

Second posting on Tuesday

Now, on with the 12-18 class.  There are six in the class, and either I am in a good mood, or they are all great puppies.  I see Cindy Tellefson talking to Gail Hardcastle. They both look good, and seem to be getting younger.  My toes and nose are cold. I think that means I am healthy, or maybe that is only with dogs.

I got to hug Iza so now my national is full. I did talk to Christine Granger and I have to go see if she likes how Markie looks now.   Tedi is talking to Linda Kury and Carolyn Martello. It is good to see them, and the judging goes on.  I do see Pam Stoessor, and I need to take a break and go say hello. I will be back. Come to think of it, you won't know the difference.

Now some noise as Tiffany goes to the front, then Kent and Lenny, now it is Liz, Tiffany, Lennie and Kent,a nd off they go. There they go a sable in front and second, and four good ones. He got the best up front. Now Liz, Lennie, Tiff and Kent, and Liz has him posed and he stands like a statue, and there they go, the crowd likes that one. And so do I.  Lennie's is working too had, and then settles down,a nd I see Rita is looking close, and Kent moves up to third.  Bob instructs them and Liz in front, Lennie, Kent and Tiff, and the last two stand back and there go the four, Liz, Lenny, Kent and Tiffany.  Bob looks closely at them and smiles and there is some growling, and that is what the smile is about and Bob moves Kent to second and there they go again.  Liz still in front and a full 20 foot lead loose on the one in front and Bob watches and tells them to slow down.  Of f they go slow, Liz is in front and lets him all the way out, and that's it, Liz, Kent, Lenny and Tiffany.

Now, on to Novice dogs.  Just Kent with Knaufhills Under Fire, and HE WON!  He was the only one in the class.  I saw Mary Ellen Kish and Bob and talked to them a bit. They are into herding and she was running in the cold all yesterday, but still looks fantastic.  I see Sharon Avery is talking to Bob.

JR with Sunfarm Black Mask Cantar, then Georgie with Windborn's One N Only of Edan and last is Olivia with  Inflight's Trouble With a T and Al with Saljela's Enrique of Yarmork..  Jane Kerner is here, and I have to go say hello.  I think Jane may be my favorite person, she is at least in the top ten.  Carole Moore just came to sit in front of us.  I had to ask Leslie if that was Olivia. She has turned into this beautiful young woman.  She has a splash of blonde hair in the front of a short brown hair cut.  That was a shock.

Mostly talking going on now, and Leslie is in a great mood, and Don is talking on the phone and we won't let him do so in peace. The dog Olivia has is a good looking sable and is in the middle.  Don was talking to Cappy and they are here.  Evidently they are at the Host. Mallissa Chavez is here with us and she is so cute. I feel so old. Leslie and her are talking and the judging goes on.

It is Al, then Georgie, JR and Olivia.   That's the American Bred class. On to Open.  I see Jimmie and he looks younger for some reason.

In comes Lennie with Shadyrock's Andalusa Tango, then Kent with Lindehil's Machu Piccnu and someone who I can't name with Woodside's CK Wall Street.  I just took Steve and Christine to go see Markie. They said they liked her, but they are so nice, what else could they say?

Bob is doing his thing, he has Kent in front then the other handler and in last is Lenny and that's the way they are going to go.  On to the Winner's class.

Bill Bergraff did put me at the announcer's stand. It is behind the reserved seats and we have to use a ladder to get up there. But, I am not that old and I think I can get up and down it a few times. What a group in front of me. Rita, Tedi, Jane Kerner and Pam Stoesser. Behind me is Leslie, Donna and Bobbie's wife, and Fran Ford and Don Knight beside me.  Now, that is one great group of people and the reason I keep going to the Nationals.

I have to admit I am partial to the 12-18 dog with Liz, Pocket Full of Gold. A real class sable, but there are other good ones in the ring.  It is Kent, Al, Lenny, Liz, JR, and Jamie Klute. Louie just came by and doing well.

They line up and Bob looks them over.   It isn't very exciting right now, but maybe it is too cold. It is about 50 in here, and while no ice, it is a bit cool for me.  Down and back,a nd Bob looks hard at them as they stand free when they get back.  Sharyll Brockett is doubling JR's dog and now Liz. Some applause for her dog, evidently I am not the only person who likes that dog. He stands perfectly and does impress me.  JR's dog in downa nd back and then Jamie.   Bob goes tot he front, gives some direction and off they go with Kent in front.  No, he says one at a time, and Kent takes him slow. There is a white side to the ring and so you can see a perfect outline.  There goes Al, and his dog has a good look to him. Lennie has a large stallion male, doesn't want to settle down, but then does.  Next is Lis., There she goes and yes, this is a crowd favorite, loose lead, slow and perfect timing.  It would be easy for me, but no one asked me. Jr has a good one, but he has the lead tight.  Now Jamie, and he takes him slow on a short lead.  Then they all stand.

Liz to the front. That seems like an easy call and Bob wants to see the Open dog again, and there goes Liz and Kent.Boy does Liz show on an open lead and makes it look easy.  Bob stops the two of them and looks them over standing from the front, and Kent and liz make them stand and Kent's seems up a bit, but stands well. Bob goes to the vaqck and tells them to take another pass with Kent in front. And there they go, and good handling both dogs. And, Kent takes it with Shadyrock's Andalusa Tango. That is a nice dog, but not a crowd favorite.  Reserve is going to be between the second Open Dog and the sable, and the sable gets it, Reserve is Adelhund's Pocket Full of Gold.

Tomorrow is another day for that dog, and I will look forward to seeing him again.

Lunch break.

Where Type Movement and Temperament come  together

Tuesday morning coming down

Here we are, a dog show. The arena looks great, the ground is dirt. I know they say it is something else, but I know dirt, and this is dirt.  It is a bit cold in here, and I don't know what it is going to be after a few hours, but right now it is cold.

I saw Bobbie at the restrarant, and also Sally Haden. I ran into Malissa Chavez, and she is more beautiful than ever.  I see the video is set up, three cameras, and one ringside.  Lanalee is up in the booth picking which one works.  Leslie came by to say hello, and she said to say hello to Jessica and the booths are full and bright. I went back to the stalls and saw everyone back there.

Fran Ford came by and he looks great.   We talked for a bit, and it went out on the streaming video. I see people are coming in, and I reminded Fran when he gave Honey Be Good the major, behind her in the class was Magic Marker.  Bobbie is set up to film and standing right behind me. Don Knight is sitting with me, and Bill Bergraff just came to show me where I am going. I sit behind the reserved seats, above the crowd.

Sandy Calisbresse, doing just great, is behind me, and I hate that I can't come up with names.  Lucy Nordstrom is here and looking great. I saw Verna Kubrik, and also Paul Johnson stopped by with a great looking sable. He has a full beard, and looks so different.

I got to hug Martha Simonette, and she has her mom with her, and so we talked for just a bit.  They are about to start the show, and so I am going to buy a catalog.  I hear Rita behind me, and I don't even have to look to see who it is.  Bob Dresher is all dressed up, and he looks like he did twenty years ago. I need to find out what he is eating.

First in the ring is Leslie, so I need a catalog. Then Jeff, Kent, and that looks like the call.

I am going to let Sandy type while I get the catalog.  Sandy says she doesn't type, so I guess I am still here. She said she needs a computer so she needs to get one now.

Kent is up front, then Lennie and Leslie,a nd there they go and that is how he sees it.

First was Scharo/Ark Fire Keeper, The Franken-Windfall Moonlighting and third was Riverrock's Jack of Hearts.

You can get the catalog on line.  I am too cold to type it all in.  I see Tiffany, and Kent is here with the next class, and I see JR getting ready to go in, there goes Kent with the first one, then JR.  I Shaun Conboy outside the ring, and he has a shaved head.  It looks like a class of two.  In the first class there were five absent, and in this class three didn't show up.  Kent had Ann-Isles Promise Keeper and JR has Lakota's Hitman of Cantar. Fran and Rita are sitting and chatting.  Donna Calibrise is waving and she has a new great haircut and a terrific diamond ring. I wonder if the national is a boon for hair dressers.  Kent is in the middle with his puppy, and real nice looking black and tan. It is quiet, but lots of people here for the show.  I did talk to Paula for a minute, she is limping about, and I think she is suffering for the work with Harley.  Sue Clark is sitting next to Fran with Roy.

Off they go and in the lead is Kent, and then JR.  Leslie and her mom are talking and they are as funny as ever.  Bobbie is filming and I hope you are getting the streaming video. Now, JR goes to the front and there they go.  Bob is looking them over and he only has the two, and so he takes them around again. The ring has a bit of spring,a nd the dogs eems to like it, great footing and that's the way it goes, JR is first and Kent second.  Joanna Rand is behind me talking and the seats are about half full.

I see Tiffany coming in the next class. Bob Funk is here and I see he is talking to Bill Tank.  First is someone I can't name with Saterhaus Travelin' Man of Nordlicht, and I see Jim Hall out side the ring, and next in the ring is Tifanny with Chablis-Styloistic Custom Design V Sugartree, then Liz with Adlehaund's Pocket Full of Gold, then George with Lyloak's Goth of Bihari, Kent with Signature's Hell's Kitchen V Kaleef, Lennie with Anne-Isles Getting Away With Murder Marquis, and last but not least is Jeff with Windfall's Year Of The Gentleman.  I guess I will just name handlers, I can't remember a lot of names but Don is helping.

OK, I'll send this so you won't have to wait, but pick it up. I notice the first dog is gone. We missed something.  Just said hello to Kenny Cunningham, but he has an all black Diesel son in the ring.  Now there is a black  I would put up.

Day one before the show in Ohio

We got up at two in the morning, to leave the house at three, so we could be at LAX two hours before the flight, and made it on time. The lot to park in was almost full, but I dropped Tedi off with two bags, a large kennel and Magic Marker, and got the bus back from the parking lot. We ran into Paul Mazzone and JR.  Paul was shipping a dog to someone in Ohio, so there were five German shepherds on our flight.

But, it's the National so it is all good.

We also ran into Debbie, (used to be Reed) and she had a dog on the flight too. After a four hour flight we go into the airport and I dragged two crates two dogs, four suitcases and a bunch of other stuff, not to mention Tedi to the curb and ran off to get the car. After forgetting which terminal we were at, and making three circles I found her, and got the car loaded. Then we faked doing stuff to keep an eye on Debbie's stuff until she got there with her car, and drove two hours to the Holiday Inn.

But, it's the National, so it is all good.

When we checked in we saw Anna and Cervaise, they were just getting her, and Liana New, who is always fun to see. Then Joan Fox drove by and said a quick hello, and I ran into Pam O'Dell.  Also, the man who bought the dog from Paul was at the motel, evidently JR forgot to give him the papers.  We were told we were on the second floor, and there was no elevator. They didn't seem impressed when I pointed out how old I am.

But, it's the National, so it is all good.

The room is small, the wallpaper is pealing, it is starting to get cold, and there are only two drawers in the room. I saw Rita already and she was headed to the bar to have a drink with Vickie. I did look at the atrium, it looked great and I could smell a pool, so I suppose there are some better areas than my room

But, it's the National, so it is all good.

Magic Marker seemed to enjoy the trip, Tedi went to find a store to buy some cookies, water, and other necessary stuff.  The crate didn't break, neither Magic Marker or I freaked out, Tedi isn't exhausted, and it only took from two in the morning to five in the afternoon to settle in, but we lost three hours, (that is like saying it's a dry heat), and it is getting colder.

But, it's the National, so it is all goo.

Dog show tomorrow.

Final News of Good Cheer

It may not be good news for everyone, but it is for me. My trial settled today, so I will be in Ohio without guilt.  It was scheduled for four weeks, one in Banning and the last three in San Diego. I planned to have my associate take it next week, but my client was not convinced that was a good idea. Finally we found a way to resolve it, so I get to join you all in Ohio.  I am anxious to see everyone, renew old friendships, make some new ones, and see the greatest animals in the country, and the best of the best.

Monday update

I started the three week hearing today in Banning.  I don't want to denigrate Banning, but it is the pits. But, we have the courthouse basement, so all is well.
I am going to have Allen take over next week, then I will take the last two weeks.  I am working on getting my client to settle, we have a great offer on the table. But, no matter what she does, I am going to Ohio.  I talked to her abut it, and the Attorney General and Judge have agreed to allow Allen to take over for that week.
So, I will see you all at the National.  I told Tedi first, and she didn't seem impressed.

Parade of Greats

Hello Parade of Greats entries,

Many thanks to all of you who have entered your wonderful dogs in the
Parade of Greats at this year's Nationals. We have a record entry of
43!!!! Because we have such a large entry, the Parade will be divided into
3 Groups:

Group 1: will be comprised of the first 14 performance entries.

Group 2: the second 14 entries of the performance group.

Group 3: 15 conformation entries.

As the group is presented, each dog's resume will be read. They will make
their beautiful run around the ring and then be dismissed.

The groups will be posted prior to the Parade in order to let people know
when they should be at the ready ring.

Just a reminder: Each dog must be presented by a single handler. Any
dog who has problems gaiting will not be required to use the full ring
but will be able to exit the ring opposite the entrance ring.

The pictures submitted with your entry will be returned to you as you
leave the ring. Please remember to pick them up.

Again, thanks for supporting the Parade of Greats and allowing the German
Shepherd Dog fancy the opportunity to view your wonderful dogs!

Looking forward to seeing you and your dogs at the Nationals.

Best regards,

"Sam" Colvin
Chairman: Parade of Greats

Ongoing saga

I brought a motion to continue my hearing, and filed it in San Diego in an emergency hearing since I am to start a three week hearing on Monday. The court in its infinate wisdom set it for a hearing on Monday morning. Monday morning my client has another hearing in Indio, California Court, so I will be there as well with a Motion to Continue the hearing. If both are denied, I am to start the hearing at 1:30 on Monday, in Banning, California.

No one wants to go to Banning. Ask Paula.

I still am fighting to get to Ohio.  If I have to chose between Ohio and Banning, I pick Ohio.  While I hate to leave these puppies, I want to give Magic Marker the vacation she deserves.  Also, Tedi wants to go.

Chances are

In the ongoing saga if I am going to make it to the national, this is where it stands. I was to be in trial in San Deigo for two weeks, and therefore would not be at the national.  That trial ended, so I am now set free.
I am to begin a trial for a veternarian in Bannining California that is to go one week, then it is to continue for three weeks in San Diego.

I have a conference call with the Judge to continue the hearing since my client has to be in court on Monday and Thursday on another matter, but so far, the Attorney General wants me to go to Banning, and wait for my client to be available.

I am writing only to let everyone who is interested, (both of you) to know the probability that I will not be blogging this year. On the other hand, I might be able to rearrange the hearings, and make it to Ohio.

  I will try.

My first attempt

It is normal for me to screw up a number of times before I get it right. But, if the Blog receives this, and the "secret" address is not given out, then we are all set for the National Unofficial Blog.

For a while I was the Official Blog, then I became the Unofficial Blog, and with the Streaming Video, I may be rendered irrelevant.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.
