IT'S SHOW TIME
Another beautiful day in Colorado. The sun is out the dogs are washed, the day is clear, and I am alive. The 12-18 Bitches are in the ring, First person I saw when walking in was Alycia in a full plastic body cast. I would have painted it to look like Wonder Woman, but she just left it gray. The Famous Linda Battistoni is sitting in front of me, and Tedi is talking to Jane Kerner.
I saw Jamie Walker early today and she is looking marvelous, and I hear Louis spreading the word, and not posting anything. Smart move. Georgie is staneding here pointing to something, and I spent a little time talking to Big Dave Rinke. Rick Oslowski came by for a howdy, and there goes Donna and Leslie with Bart Bartly talking to Bob Eaton. I did see Martha Simonette early today, and will find time to talk to her later.
Chris Morgan came by yesterday and said that Jim is reading this nonsense, so I hope he is having as much fun at home as we are here. Danny Dwier is walking in front of us, and Bob Lindsey is filming as usual. It is strange to see people in shorts at 40 degrees out, but here in Colorado this is a warm trend. I see Maryellen Kish watching and now listening to Norma. Bob VanWinkle is talking to Kevin Renolds and DD Ardoin is looking for his seat.
Incidently, there are bitches in the ring. There goes Carolyn Margtello, and Sean is standing in front of us teaching people about dog shows. He is wearing a bib, so either he is in the ring soon, or just likes the look. The Guz is here and dressed to show, and I see Frank Frazano is now next to the ring, so he probably has another entry. They sure had a lot of winners so far. I saw Max at breakfast, so he must have something in the show.
OK, OK, to the show. He has them all in the ring, and has finished the individuals. Joyce Ebert just came by. There they go all together, no, just the first four, three more standing. I think there are more outside the ring. Kent is yelling at someone, and now Bob has seen who can move. He wants to check temperament on one again, and no, it is not goingto wok. He moves Kent to the front, Scottie in second, Jack in third. Kent has Isabella's One Woman Show owned by Martha Simonette. A good looking bitch. Bob now takes the others around, I think he liked his first four, and in comes the rest of the class.
Bob now moves the second part of the class, the first three, and four standing. The last three of the first group are standing off to the side. First our is JR. Just for the temperament test the second one gets a lot of applause, it is Melina's Shakira and she goes to the front, and there go the four of them. The crowd does like that bitch, and so do I.
Now Bob pulls out the last three, and moves the first four fromt eh second group to the side, and takes the last three of both groups together, six of them. I always have been good at math. He pulls out Alex, and lets the rest get a much deserved, if unwanted break, and out they go. And then there were nine. The second five, and the first group of four. He pulls Shakira and puts her in third, JR to fourth, and he is looking over the other three, and his first group, and takes his time to look them over and moves the three around agains, and there they go. I think they are going out, but not sure yet, and Bob looks at them, pulls Bill Tank out, and lets two go out to get ready for Utah next year, or is it Beaumont?
Now there are seven, and the first four take off with Kent in the front. Scottie behind him. Nice bitches, and he pulls Shakira into second. She is spectacular. Greg Eshette came by and wants us to think of him, and he is working the crowd. He does such a great job for our breed, in and out of the ring.
Now, down and back, first Kent, and now Shakira. The handler is laughing at the crowd reaction. Even Bob is laughing. Jimmy is ringside with a sport coat, talking to Linda Bankhead.
Now Bob goes to the first three and looks them over again and goes that way. A bit anti climatic, but it is in the books. First is Isabella's One Woman Show, Second is Melana's Shakira, Third is Shoal Creek's Sangria V Barick and Fourth is Kohlein's Southern Rain.
Ed (Flower Boy) just came to the announcer's stand with Thurmand, and so I get to take a break.
