Wow, what a national.  I got my ribbon, got to spend time with my friends. I made a few new ones, and had a great time. I don't know if I can do this next year, but we will see. The streaming video was a great addition and we owe a vote of thanks to Gail Hardcastle.  She fought hard to keep it going and some didn't want it.

Molly was the greatest and her knowledge of the breed, who the winner's were was astounding.  I can't say how much help she was, and what a boost she gave to this.  I could not do this without her, or at least not this well.

BEST OF BREED KRIDLER'S MIAMI V SIGNATURE
BEST OPPOSITE   ARAGON
BEST OF WINNERS ELI

Last year the top two were reversed. Last year Diesel was Grand Victor in Canada and the Untied States. This year. Aragon was Grand Victor in Canada and The United States.

Your 2009 Grand Victor

Dave takes the first five around and he walks over to them and looks and he walks to them and looks closely at them and he second six.  There they go.

Dave walks to them and he swings his arms and pulls Oscar and Bronson, and takes the next seven. He moves quickly when he gets to this point, and it is hard to know what is going on. I think he is pulling some, but I can't see all of them.

He walks over to them and looks at them and now he looks at his last group of three. I think he is not cutting at all.
There go the last three of his picks, sixteen, seventeen and eighteen.

He walks back and they are all together and he takes It's All About Me and Joshua. So, he has picked some and let some out, but they all remain in the ring.  Now he takes four around and he sends all four out the gate, Hunter et al.

Now he has fifteen.  What a lineup.  Cobe, Centurian, Gable, Key Largo, T-Boy, GV Diesel, Dexter, Aregon, Rocky, Bronson, Ray Bearone, Eli, It's All About Me, Joshua, and Rambling Man. What a group and there is going to be some changes in there, but I think they should all go Select, But, no one asked me.

I love that group, and now he is going to change them.  He pulls Diesel, Aragon, Oscar, Eli, Bronson and walks to the front. WOW is it noisy. Now Joshua.  There go the five to the side.  Now he pull Coby, Centurian, Gable, Dexter, Rambling Man Ray Bearone and It's All About Me T-Boy, and Dexter.

That might be the order, but I think there is a lot more show to go. Dave talks to Kent in front, then Morris, Art, and Jimmie.  He stands off and has each of them to, GV Diesel first and he looks terrific.  He says drop the lead, Aragon, another great dog.  He ask Oscar to take the lap. He said something to Kent.  Dave waves him back, and now Eli.  Dave likes the loose lead on that dog and walks over to Eli and looks at them and doesn't do anything with them. Now Bronson.

It is thick with tensiion and Dave moves Bronson up one in front of Eli. There goes Joshua, and Dave walks over to him and doesn't change anything.

There goes Cobe with Diane Brown and puts him in front of Eli. Centurian and nothing from Dave.

Now Gable and Dave looks but nothing.

Key Largo, a crowd favorite.  He puts in front of All About me.  Rambling Man. It seems to me that there is less interest with Dave and he flips his hand. I know what that means.  Now Ray Bearone.

There goes All About Me.  He moves him All About me in front of Rambling Man, and now T-Boy.

Now we have Dexter.

Dave walks the line and the crowd tells him what he thinks. He moves Bronson from four to three in front of Joshua.  He goes to the end and walks back and Dave looks fresh and tells the group to stand back and takes the last eight from Centurian back and lets them take a lap. He may have some more to do. He watches them as they pass the wall.  He walks to the front and looks at each of them as they stand and he looks back up front and now walks the line. He looks at them and he pulls Centureian back to fourth in this group.

Now he has pulled the first group of seven with Eli.  There are fifteen still in there. Maybe they are all going Select. I think so.

There are the best of the best, Diesel, Aragon, Oscar, Bronson, Joshua, Cobe, and Eli. Now comes the real work.  I do love Diesel.  I liked him before and like him now.

He is taking them down and back.  George does a number of false starts, and wants to go another direction as gets his wish. NOW THAT IS A CROWD FAVORITE, and rightly so. Diesel stand free and now Dave goes to Aragon with Kent.

Kent takes the full ring and the crowd likes him too. Dave looks at him and moves him in front of Diesel.

Oscar takes his lap, and now Bronson.  Joshua, down and back.  He has his fans.  Dave is looking them over and walks to the font again and looks at them again, and he walks down the line and back again, and is walking back and is reaching into his poket. Puts Aragon Diesel and Oscar together and he looks and looks and is walking towards them What a great trio.

He moves Oscar, and is going to let each of those three lead one time.  There they go. You could cut the tension with a knife. And It is great to see those three together. 2009 might be a greAt year for our breed.

He puts Aragon in front, Diesel and Oscar. And they pose, and he says "loose Lead" and Kent says something to Dave and Dave laughs and there they go and YES it Aragon.

FIRST IS GRAND VICTOR ARAGON.

Male specials, end of the line before final pick

In come those magnificent males. I, (Evan) am back and have come down off the wall from Magic Marker going Select. It is more fun to win. I haven't had a win for so long that I had forgotten.  Tony just told me I was wrong with the junior and it was Maria Oster.  I would trust him more than me.

What a great looking group of dogs. I wonder how Dave can keep this up so long, and must be exhausted, and they are still coming in. I am wearing my Harley Davidson sweatshirt. I kept it covered until Markie was done. She doesn't like me cheering for another dog.

Man were those beautiful bitches. Dave and Ed are the two best judges I have ever seen. And, now that our board is dominated by women, we manly men need to find solice somewhere.  Zoe has been here most of the day, and seems to be having a good time.

Dave and Karen are in the ring to check everyone in with them all standing. I see Charllona is on Harley, and it was touch and go, as to if she would go on.  I just took the last chocolate chip cookie.  It is good the show is about over. Bob and I supply the eats here at the command center, and the only rule is that it can't be good for you. Molly and I did the Junior Mints. The closest we came to healthy food was oatmeal cookies.

They are 3/4 checked in and Dave walks out to look them over.  Boy is he tall. Mike Cheeks just came by.  Out go the last of the class, and in there are the first seven. Diane has It's All That Matters, and I like the looks of him.  There they go.  Big handsome males.  I was wrong Cindy Tellefson has Harley.  Now Dave starts the individuals.

Bill Lernerd is here and now I am talking to Ron Peet.

First out was I'm All That Matters of Edan with Diane, Kelly with Von Dinheart Midnight Harley, then Nick with Winsomes' Dream Love Bear Peddacre, Dave doesn't even look tired, and I sure am.  I see Frank Fasano and talked to him in the men's room. It was very private.

Now we have Suean Lyloak's First Night. That is a very dark black and tan.  He takes his down and back, like a man.  Bob and Molly are bonding and she is supposed to feed me this information.  She may be finished with me when this is over.  How cool was it with the dams of the GV and the second Select being the same the last time Dave judged the national?

Now we have Nick with Cade of Fran-Jo. The sire of the Best Bred By this year.  I have always liked Cade.  He still looks like a puppy.  He is five now, and in his prime. Now Dave calls out Nancy with a bi-colored male Brazos of Satr-Nordlicht, owned by Ebertins, he is doing the results on the parent club page. He spent a lot of time in the booth trying to de-frag his computer.

Scottie brings out Kismet's Centurion. Having Molly here is like having two of us on the computer. What a great thing. Maybe some day she can take this over. She has a normal mind and you wouldn't hear all the nonsense I put out.

I talked to Paula a bit, and she is a wreck. I know how much she loves Harley.

ASGARD'S HARLEY DAVIDSON OF PLAMARK  IS OUT THERE WITH CINDY TELLEFSON.  Bob finished that dog.

Molly just reminded me that my number eight select means she is within the top ten bitches in America this year. I like that.

They are done with the first group and now the second group.   Leading is Ken Tank with a good looking male. I like waht Patti hasin there and I see The Guz with Bounty Hunter.  Diane Brown is outside the ring but has a number on, so she has dreams of Grand Victor in her head, still.

Out there is Ken Tank with Amber's Jake The Snake. I do miss Barbara Amadon, who I understand is having knee problems. I hope she does well and we see her in Utah.

Maryellen Kish is going by and it is quiet in here right now.  Now up is Holly a good looking redhead, with Lutzhaus Sirkobrasas Winsom.  I hope I spelled that correctly, and if not, again blame Flower Boy.

What a tremendous job out board and Bill did with this National. If you haven't thanked the two people who fought for streaming video yet, let Gail and Lanalee know what you think. Also thanks to Molly for all this help.

Now we have Ariel with Nikiree's Summer Premiere the Futurity Victor from Concord.  Tedi is sitting down, and still grinning. I see Cappy is busy with friends and there is Channing.

Patti Breault with Marhaven's Next in Line Reno. He was Select this year in Canada. I don't know this stuff, Molly does. One year I said to Dick Jenning who works with me, that Earnie Loeb was doing the national. Without missing a beat, he said, "Do you realize that the last time he judged the national, in his first cut were the next three Grand Victors?"  Who has a mind like that?  This from the man who owned Jennick Kennels and Just Jamaca and others.

The crowd likes that dog and he sure does cover the ground.

Jullie Hamasaki has Faithrock Carolyn Good Vibrations.  I am amazed that the handlers can deal with this ring after all the years they have handled. I would love to go out in the ring again, and maybe will at local shows. But, my National days are long past, and I have the Wisdom To Know The Difference.

The Bounty Hunter is out there with Jerry.  Kent came by and Joe Larosa is talking to Al in front of us.  I see Gloria is still dressed up and what a great outfit. She will be able to wear it to the prom.

Hy-Cliff with Gable, Hy-Cliff Gable. I liked him last year, but he didn't make the cut.  A real powerful dog, and all man.

Olivia is out there with Charbo's Key Largogh V Marjo.  I did some neat stuff and will say in a minute.

We have the third group in now. I was asked by Becky Dickson to go on line to look up Bronson's OFA numbers and with help from Zoe and Molly as well as Becky, was able to do it. I am now officially a techie.

I love that second dog, a Color Dog son, and I will get to him in a minute.

First up is Beth with Melana's Mojito.  That's Milissa Cambell's dog. He is out of Pandemonium.  Randy Chessnut came by to talk about our girls. One the Maturity Victrix, the other number eight Select. We tried to figure out which was better. I am keeping my Select Title.  And they go around one at a time. I could go back and take a nap for this.

Greg with the Color Guard son, a real dark dog, Marhaven's Solitare Traveler, and he is impressive.  I think that is one hell of a male, and while I hate his color, I love his type.

George with Diesel with Trafalger's Full Throttle. If anyone didn't know, it was last year's Grand Victor. He is young and looks better this year.  He is only three and a half. I would think Dave would love him.

Duane Siebly with Samurai Jette Jackson.  Another Color Guard Son.  The Boss rules.  Mike Cheeks is looking serious and walked over to the ring.

This is a girl in Red, Crystal. She has Ketlyns Written in Stone.  There is a lot of milling about.
Molly here now, Evan had to leave for a bit.   Alex is out there with Karizma's Cacique of Inquest better known as Dexter.  Next up, Bill Basu with Mar Haven's Last Cowboy Song.

Kent has entered with the Can GV Tazzman's Aregon. And that is the end of this group.

The next group is coming in and Evan is taking over.....

We are taking votes on who you want to do this, Me or Molly?  I like her touch and she types so much better than I do. I see the next group is in there. I love the Cowboy dog.

This is the fourth group out of seven, (I think).  I see Lew Bunch working the crowd, and walking by now.  Nancy McDonald is sitting down. I saw Lee outside and he said watching is easier than judging, and I know that to be true.

Sylvain is out there with Pastor Burgas.  He is a Canadian Champion and is a Canadian Select.

Abby (with the best clothes of the national), with Inverness T Bird Eko-Lan.

Cindi with Shanty's Monte Carlo.  He is a Hoodlum son, and I have always liked that dog. He is popular in California.

Jammie Clute with Keylis Bloomsberry's In Thyme. Another dark dog. Either we no longer have a pigment problem in the breed, or there is more going on than I know. That may indeed be the answer.

Joanne is out there now with a dark sable, Echo-Cham's Escalde. Another Color Guard son. He took reserve futurity futurity under Kathy Castile in Tennesee in 2005.

Mike has his entry in there it is Wolf Creek Phoenix V Merivern.  Bill Bergraff is in front of us, and seems to have taken a deep breath. It seems to have all come together, and it must be a relief.  He used to do this for a living and it shows.

The crowd likes Mike's dog.   But, this is a bit boring, and a long suffering proceedure.

Lenny with Kaleef's It's All About Me.  Carolyn Martello came by, and I was pleased to see Tammy Howard here. She got out of the hospital and looks good.

Out there is Trish Wylie with a dark sable Adelgard's Yancy D Von Marquin. He is an Extra Extra son and if you need to ask who that is, sign off this Blog now, and go to the next national. He is seven and a half years old, Yancy, not Extra Extra.
They take a lap together, and there isn't anything to get excited about, yet!

Now the second half of the group. Tedi came by but I didn't have time to talk to her. I know I will hear about that on the way home. I might be done with the Blog after this year. Dave takes lots of notes.

Now on to group five.

Zoe is asleep behind me.  It may be a long day, there are three more groups and it is three O'clock.

I see Ron Peet has a camera here at ringside.   They take another lap. Hard to get excited at this point, and I would rather take another nap.

Bill Tank has Kaleef's Joshua V Kenlyn. A Bronson son.  Owned by the Moses and is a Maturity winner under Bobbie Kindy.

Now a nice young man I don't know, (his name is Patrick)  with Kebre-Kaleef's AJ VonHornberger.  I am just giving you the names, when it gets exciting I will name the dogs, and you can go back and try to figure out the handlers. You have to so some of the work.

Jeff Pyle with Trafalgar's Feature Presentation. A brother to Diesel and Pacific Chai.  They call him Kahnya.

JR has Shadow Acres and Castle Hill's In Cahoots.  Her mother is a litter mate to last year's Grand Victrix, if I am not mistaken, and I might well be.  I often am.

Jenn Somogyni with Alfaro's Rambling Man, who is a Honky Tonk son.

Linda Bankhead, one of the best looking woman at the national, with Donka's Worth the Wait.  Terry Rock is in front of us and we can hear every word she says.  Another one of those Bronson sons, Worth The Wait, not Terry.

Morris in short sleeves with Marquis Stealing The Show, OSCAR for those who don't know or who have lived in the woods the last two years. A Bailey son.  A very very nice dog, and a clear crowd favorite.

Al Martin has Kaleef's Cochise V Kenlyn.  Fran Ford is still sitting ringside and looks fresh. I wish I felt that way.  I did find out Dave is seven days younger than me, no wonder he has so much energy.

Now the class takes a pass together. Just the first four. Dave breaks each group of eight in half, and using advanced math, that comes to four.  Now he takes the second half again.

Now the group with Jimmy in it. He has been my hero for years and while I got older, he got younger.  He has an Aries son called Bronson.  You had to be in a cave not to know who that is.

They take another pass.  All eight of them.  The best Junior Handler Liz Ostler's daughter is in there. She runs just like Liz.

Jimmy is out there with Hicliff Bronson V Kaleef, and Baily Panach son.  Panash was the second Select under Dave when he judged in Florida and the damn of the number two Select bitch today.
Baily is the sire of six of the Select Bitches.

Liz with Winsomes Raybearone.  He is three now.  He won a futurity under Bob Funk.

This is the Winner's Dog from Tuesday under the Great Bob Dresher, (The Voice of The National).  He is the move-up, Lindenhill's Machu Picchu with a Canadian handler Benoit Champagne.

Now we have Beth with Winsom's Rockybearboa II.  Beth is a Junior who has great style and is going to be a top handler is she doesn't get interested in boys. He was the Maturity Victor this year.

This is another move-up, Caretti's Archangel with Steve Granger.  He is a Samari son, so he is half brother to my Samari daughter Honey Be Good.

Art Sinclair comes in with the Winner's dog Ejm N' Eko-lan's Eli.  Ellen's dog.

Now we have the Veteran winner with John Beyer.  7-9, Donka's Kahlua.

The 9 and over Veteran with Maria Oster's daughter Sirius Park Worth the Trip at ten.  He is one year older than the handler.    Now, that is the first crowd pick. I don't know if it was for Maria. A real cute pair.   Her mother doesn't look much older than her.

Thankfully this is the last group and now we start the true hell for about half the handlers. There goes the group together.  The first four, and now the second four.

That Veteran has held together.

Now the unkindest cuts of them all.

Dave has left the building. I am a man and wonder how he was holding out this long.  He is a better man than me. But, Martha and I knew that.  He is back, sat for ten seconds and now is back in the ring.

It is a good time for a break.

The first group is back in.

He takes them around again, and it might be the last time for many of them. There they go with lumps in their throat. I only see two I would go with, but no one asked me.

He pulls I'm All That Matters, (Kobe), and takes the rest of the group around.  He takes Centurian, and sends the rest to waiting hell.

Now the second group: Lots of hope and not much to wish for.

Ken Tank is in front and The Guz is in there too.  They take a pass. Those on the Video can see it all, the rest, tough shit. Don't call a bench show committee on me.

He points to Cirkrobrass, and takes around Next In Line Reno and YES she gets the nod and goes to heaven at the national, and the rest take a pass to end the day, perhaps.  There is still another chance.

He pulls Gable and Key Largo with Hunter.  Five from that group, and in comes another.

Molly thinks there will be four pulled from this group. She says it is a strong group. There they go.

He pulls GV Full Throttle, and is talking to them, looking them over and seems to want to see them take another pass. I don't think Dave is impressed with them as much as Molly was, and he takes them around and there they go.

He takes Aragon, Kent is relieved.  He looks at the rest of them and shoves them back to the ranks of disappointed.

Another group and Savaine is leading this group.  These dogs are fired up with hours to go.  Dave goes for another trip, I don't think he is overwhelmed with this group.

He looks closely at them and goes over and points to It's All About Me, and no one else.

Another group of hopefuls, and not much chance left. I would hate to be in there, glad I have one of those big black and red ribbons that no one can take away. There they go, maybe for the last time, the first four.  He pulls Joshua, and asks for the next group, and passes on the rest.

Four with some dreams left, Jen is in front.  He pulls Rambling Man and Oscar.  Baily is doing good here today. He takes Feature Presentation and YES he gets to stay at the dance for a while.

Off the rest go.  There is a big group of lost souls in there.     Molly here, next group is in.
Bronson, Ray Bearone and wnners dog Eli has been pulled.   That was the last group.  17 have been pulled at this point.  Evan is back...

Yes, it is I.

He is taking those with dashed hopes one at a time.. As someone how handled for years, I know the feeling.  There goes Harley, and he is done for the day, I suspect. But he looked good doing it.  I might as well take off my Harley sweatshirt.  Solitare Travelor (T-Boy), goes out there and Dave looks him over, since the crowd loves him and YES he gets pulled.

Boy, this can be hard on the emotions.  Not many of these are being saved, and Dave is such a good job, and it shows. YES he pulls Dexter, Illeana's dog.

There goes Cowboy and no, there goes another.  Everyone gets a good look. I like that in a judge.  The crowd is quiet now, and waiting for the end game.

I am amazed how what he has left is not Select quality. I know I could not do that well. Dave and Ed are able to do that in such a short time. I would love to know how their brain works. There goes the Junior Handler with the Veteran. He looks good, but no longer great.  The Rest Go Home.

Now the rest, nineteen.  All with hopes of Select. None of them can have my ribbon, and I know they would take it. I earned it, and I wanted it, and I am keeping it.

Tony's rambling and Best Junior Handler

Juniors are on the lunch break, dog specials to start at 1 PM.   And hopefully Evan will be back and I will be a voice in his ear only.

Since the computer is sitting here vacant, I (Tony Szczuka) thought I would babble a bit.  Juniors are still going on, but it is quiet here (like the lull before the storm).  However, there are a good number of people still in the stands watching juniors and applauding everyone..  I can see the Gold Page lunch going on upstairs; and a lot of people coming back from lunch.  It may be quiet in the stands, but every time the doors open behind us, we can here the sounds of bathing, grooming, blow drying, and the like coming from the stall area.  A lot of the clubs are starting to close their tables.  Rescue has had their raffle and are packing up.  The foundation has finished their auction and are calling for people to pick up their items.  I don't know how all the vendors did, but Sally Hayden seems to have run out of shirts & jackets.

I always enjoy watching the juniors.  Maybe it's because they listen to the judge and follow her instructions.  Maybe it's because they haven't turned arrogant and cynical.  Or maybe it's just because after 5 days of a National, they still have energy.  Regardless of the reason, I look out there and wonder which one will be the next big handler (or breeder).

Leana New came by trying to sell more raffle tickets.  We are now on the last class of Juniors, and the stands are starting to fill back up.  There were 17 juniors entered, and every one is here.  The Open Senior class just went in the ring.  This is the biggest class (7 juniors), and these are the oldest and most experienced of the juniors – some look better then the professional handlers.

The younger juniors were Katelyn Mayle, Blake Irysh, Trevor Scott Golden, Andrew Doerrman, Debra Vlietstra, Jasmin Smith, Crystal Branham, Maria Oster, and Stephanie Irysh.  The older juniors are Megan White, Lauren Gerloff, Duane Sibley, Taylor Petry, Jessica Ball, Lora Long, Caitlin Ricker.

Gloria has been a good judge for the juniors - she has used the same ring procedure for every class.  She brought them in, did individuals, gaited them as a group, and then had them all stack their dogs facing the center (toward the judge).  After that she arranged them, gaited them as a group and mad the final placement.

Gloria seemed to have an easy time placing the earlier classes, but the senior's class is making her think about it.  Lauren Gerloff won the class with Pinecrest's In My Fatehr's Image.

Now all the junior winners are coming in the ring, and Gloria is asking the crowd for their applause.  Gloria is going over the juniors are talking to them.  She is now having each do a Triangle pattern (not seen much in the specialty ring, but common in the All-Breed ring).

The best Junior Handler is KATELYN MAYLE

The rest of the special bitches have been excused.  And now the owners and doublers of the remaining bitches are on the move.

Now onto the second group - nothing was done yet.  The crows is awake now - caffeine must have kicked in. Zoe sitting here and trying to type.. Praise be, Molly is back.  Thanks Zoe.  All the picks have been brought in for another look.
We are lined up with next set of picks.   Magic Marker is at the front of the bus...Evan may not survive!
14 are now in, 6 picks have left China among them.   Numbers we have left are 'george with Kallie Alex with Annie Mike with Mystique, Kent with Heiress Bill with Magic Marker, Scott

with Cherry, Christy, Kelly, Arield Lenny Art Liz Jamie and Diane.  Dave has the 2 Wolf Creek dogs in front......both sisters and sable.    The breeder is one of my closest friends and now i am getting nervous!

Mike just got pulled with Mystique and Kent with Heiress to 1 and 2.    The 2 sisters are taking off again.  Mike is in front with Mystique

The last 7 are round, and Dave is looking to change their order.    Mike is in front with Mystique, kent with Heiress, Alex with Annie

en Christy with Sienna, George with kallie, Kelly with Miami, Bill with Magic Marker, Scott with Cherry Crush.  First 3 went around, no changes.   Next 3 around, and Kelly is pulled and moved to 3rd.      Bill Scott and Ariel with Marker, Cherry and Liker are going around.  Dave is putting Scott behind Kallie Bill and Ariel bringing up the end.   Lenny, Art, Liz Jamie and Diane are at end end.  Dave is looking hard and there are 14 in the ring.  The group from Kallie on is going around. Dave is working the front 5 now and Christy has moved up 1 with .   Dave is keeping Mystique in front after a coming and go.   Kent is staying in 2nd with Heiress.  Kelly with Miami is doing the down and bak and the crowd went nuts.  She is staying in 3. Christy stays in 4th, Alex stys in 5 and Dave just said we are getting to the exciting part.  He wants them walked at loose lead.  Mike did not walk, Dave noticed    LOL    Kent is going around with Heiress, not Kelly with Miami, and she moved into 2nd.  Christy with Sienna did a go around and has stayed in 4th...Annie is doing a go round with Alex......and moved to the head of the 2nd group.  He is considering the first 4 again.      Dave said we have 4 REALLY good bitches.    He just moved MIAMI to the front of the line. Now Kent is in front with Heiress......

C
Christy is taking a round in the front.     Miami got pulled again and is at the front. We have Miami as GVX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

spec bitch 2nd post

Magic Marker was the third bitch in. I love how she looked, (Evan here) and I am leaving. I am too nervous and Molly is too good.  (Molly here, and don't expect that good)

Zane was just out with Echo Chams ShasFair.   Alex just passed with Wolf Creek Antares of Merivern.   Forgot to mention in the last posting for those interested...the bitch with George in the 2nd group Kallie was Randy Darnells WB from the Can national and took a select under Mary Ellen.   Al Martin who claims to be the best dressed handler of all times is now out with Yarmorks Beyonce of Sajela .   Al looks as good as the dog did.     Cindy on board now with a bicolor, Long's Peak Color my World a daughter of Cookie, the 2006 GVX.    Joan Fox just passed and gave us her "queenly" wave.  Bob Grqady in his "whites" just checked in.  Sure looks dapper.  Keggi Fairs Ubetch Kos Mar just took her pass with a young lady I don't know.  Zoe is going to find out who she is...she did a nice job..    Abby now in the hot spot with That 'd Be MZ Stonewall .  Love the way both the gals moved.    Mike Sherman is up with this years Can GVX Kennelwoods Mystique Impulse.  Beautiful bitch.  The Woods are and should be proud to have bred such a good one.    Now have the name of the handler the Keggi Fair dog...name of Beth and she is a junior handler.

JR seems to have taken over for Zane on 717...the Echo Chams dog.   The group has done their pass, Dave has his notes and they are out of the ring.   Group 4 now in.  Jerry is a little slow coming in.  Off they go against the white tell all wall.

Randy C just went by looking very nervous.   A pass is made and Dave is doing notes.  Syd Riley is out with Ponca Hills Wow of Ritarra.  Still good to see the influence of Jack Budd out there.  Also nice to see Syd back in the ring after several years hiatus.  Scotty is coming out with the lovely Cherry Crush of Oh May.  Always wonder why he never seems to age.  She is looking strong and very on.

Patti B has taken center stage .  First I have seen her in the ring this nationals.   She has Sinca's Rosanna V Madeb.   Kent and Anne Isle's Heiress V Kenlyn Kaleef are taking a round.  Young Melissa Chavez are in and she is looking confident.  Will save, it seems to take Dave but a few seconds to examine, temp test and get on with it.  Love an ifficient judge.    Melissa is showing Candia's Toil N'Trouble.

The Guz has come in...only guy here almost as tall as Dave.  Jerry is showing Bobbie's Jagan Karagin Happysaysitall (Sara) .   Good pass.  Kelly is on with Signature's Miami V Kridler.

Thats the group now Dave is doing a long look.   The group is going around and Evan just passed doing a lot of pacing today.  Now he is here looking for food to get his nerve's under control.  The first 4 pass then the last 3 are going around.  Mores notes and out they go.   Think the next group is the last group to go....we are moving quickly

Sandy Dancosse just passed by...good to see her at a national.  Been a few years.   The last group is now in, corrrection 2nd to last group.    Art is out with Schatten's the One Rose . Lenny is setting up Signatures Nutmeg V Kridler and the crowd is doing a lot of clapping.  She looks as good or better than last year in Beaumont.  Olivia is on the flybly by with Can GVX from 2 years ago Jantars China Lake of Witmer.    Elizabeth passing with Chablis Scandalous.   Fred F is out with a nice sable Millertime's American Gypsy.  The sables seem to fade out a little as they are the same color as the dirt.  Good we have the white wall.    We only have 5 in this group and there are now taking the group pass.  Sure hope I am doing justice to Evans great reporting.

Both Bob and Zoe are doing great comments, not that I will type them.  Hope everyone can see these lovely gals on the video.   The last group is now in and its just 10 AM.

Joann is passing by with a sable Joelle's a Penny for Your Thoughts.
Now Ariel is in with another sable ,  Stonewalls' LookALiker.  She did Lori's legacy proud
and got a lot of crowd support.   Now Liz is on the move with Lockenhaus Isis V Kenlyn Hicliff.
Jamie Clute has WB Kiefernfels If Life Were Like That.  She is still on.

Trish is out their with Depauls Brqandi the veterans bitch.  She has not aged much.  Bob Walker, the new prez' hubby is all smiles.

Cindy Telefson is the caboose to the bitches with Ponca Hills Christy Brinkley another great old gal from the senior veteran bitch class.   It's a wrap.

Gail H is chatting with Bob and talking about her pup that has Christie Brinkley behind it.

Group 1 is back in and took a pass.  Magic Marker is pulled and Diane and Christy have been pulled out.  Next group is in.  Christy has Sienna and Diane has MmMm Good.
From group 2 Dave has pulled Wolfcreeks Kallie Merivern and George and the rest of the group is out the end.

Grp 3 is on their pass.  Antares with Alex is pulled and Al Martin with Beyonce.  Mike pulled with Can GVX Mystique and the rest are sent out.   Grp 4 in.  Cherry Crush and Scott pulled, Kent and Heiress are pulled.  Jerry and Kelly with Sara and Miami are pulled too.  The next group enters.

Art and the One Rose, Olivia and China and Lenny and Nutmeg are pulled.   The last group is now in.

Dave is pulling out Ariel, Liz and jamie with Lookaliker, Isis and winners bitch. By my count, Dave has pulled out 14 bitches.   He is now taking a last look at the remaining bitches, giving them all a single pass to see if there is something he missed.   Philip has been pulled with Abria.
Ken Tank with Boogie

Where Type Movement and Temperament come  together

(no subject)

Here we are for the big day. The end all be all. The top of the heap, The best of the best, The reason we do this, the final chance, the Wins of the Wins.  Specials at the National.  What a rush, and what a chance to see why this is the best breed in the world.

We are here an hour before show time, and about two hours before we know if we get cut on the first round.  It is interesting to see about twenty people here, walking around with coffee, and eyes that are still slits. The ring is packed and the tables are in place. Some of the venders are open and I saw Ken, Kathy and Hunter Tank already. The stalls are full of owners and handlers rushing back and forth, lots of yelling, dryers blowing, and dogs looking confused. People are rushing from stall to stall and a quick smile to say hello, and then back to frowns and serious business.  I looked to see if Diesel was here yet, but Mike has not arrived. The dogs go in later in the day, so they must be sleeping in, as if anyone can sleep before Specials.

I now see more people coming in. Bart is walking to the ring to look it over, the photographers are all set up, all but two of the booths are open.

Tedi is back in the stalls grooming Magic Marker. She is worried, concerned, happy, cheerful, tired, uptight, and relaxed all at the same time.  It is always an adventure to show in Specials, and a privilege.  I haven't seen a national this relaxed in years, and it is a tribute to Gail Hardcastle and Bill Bergraff, and the hundreds of others that work so hard to put it together. I know Tish and the rest of the new board will do the same in Utah next year, and in a few hours it will be over.

There is a lot going on, but the big news is that Christine Granger obtained a stay of the suspension from the AKC, so look for Raspberry the Maturity Winner in Specials.

Gail Hardcastle told me the two things she wanted to accomplish this year was to keep things quiet and to get the steaming video for the national.  Between her and the Team Video, she got both things done. Now the arena is filling up, and lots of hugs, laughter, shaking, and howdies going on.

Big Dave came by and we talked for a bit about the physical demands of judging and then Martha and I talked about the show itself.  This is going to be a great day and lots of fun for most, and perhaps a disappointment for some.  But, in seven or eight hours it will all be over, and then on to Utah. Right now, all I want is to take a deep breath, calm down, see Markie make the first cut, and dream of when I used to be able to run this ring.  Memories are sweet, but doing is better.

I am turning this over to Molly since I am too nervous and worried, too jazzed and too crazy to type.  She will give you her take on what is going on, and how it looks through her eyes. From here, it is just the best there can be.

MOLLY
Monring all.  You won't get Evanese from me but I will do the best I can to fill those shoes.
Ginny has blessed us with her great singing to open the show and the obedience victor has been awarded.   Didn't sit quick enough to get the name but everyone was all smiles.

Gail H and Nancy Godek Macdonald are bringing in the junior handlers who are the future of our breed.  They are all being introduced.  Loren, Jessia, Taylor, Laura, Kaitlyn, Duane, Trevor, another Kaitlyn, Blake, Trevor, and Stephanie.  I think I missed one gal, sorry.
They all take a lap.  Good looking, talented bunch of kids.

Gary S and Bart are now in the center of the ring to do the memorial tribute to those that have passed in the past year.   We have lost 22 people in the breed in the past year....all of the names are read.

Dave is now center ring and says he is excited to be here. He cautions doublers to be under control so he can judge the dogs at its best.   He wants natural stacks from the handlers and as an afterthought he says he is sorting to good, very good and excellent.    This place is electric!!

Our hard working stewards Dick and Bob are walking the ring   The dogs are coming in.
All have been tabulated and divided in groups. The rest are leaving the ring.   The first group is on the move. Sean with Look Ma No Hands of Edan are out there for their individual.  Hard being the first one I am sure.   Mary Ann just stopped to say hi.   Good steady pass with Sean.  Greg with Scharo Ark Long Hot Summer now making their pass.  Candy Z just stopped by....guess I am taking a puppy to Texas for her.      Bill is up with Magic Marker.     Evan is on edge am sure but Tedi will take care of that.  Now Steve G  is up with Debric Caretti's Angelina.  Tiff with Millertimes Sweet and Brassy are up...she is out of the numbers for the catalogue.  An unknown handler to me, young red headed lady from Portland OR is up with Faithrock Caralon Surfer Girl
Now Christy with Hicliff Sienna Kaleef .    Just been told the handler from OR is Lindsay but I don't know her last name.     Deb H just said hi and looks busy as always.    Dianne B up now with MMM MM good of Edan.    So there is 8 in the first group and individuals are done.   The first 4 are making a pass, then the next 4 go.  Dave is making some notes and taking one more look at the line .  Sherre stopped and isn't feeling so well today.   First group is out, and the next one is coming in.  Shirley Melvin from Tx just stopped and said I don't look like Evan.  I tried..

The next group is taking its pass.   Phillip M is out with Tuthill Abria Temptation.  Jeff is out with Hickory Hills Raspberry Beret.  Jon Beyer is up with Vici's Windsong .  Zoe is now here and giving me a running commentary...she got the name of the handler from OR for me.    Ken Tank now there with Liebchen's Boogie Wonderland ..this is be Ken's last national as a handler.  He will judging soon if approved.   Sergio on board with Enchanted's American Anthem.  Tiffany just went by looking great and gave us a smiley good morning.   Bill Tank up with Eko Lan N'EJMS Encore.  Georgy taking the pass now with Wolf Creek Kallie of Merivern.

The first 4 are making a pass, the last 3 are doing a round, Dave is doing a lot of smiling.  A cold breeze just hit us....probably the handlers moving so quick.   Dave is giving them all one more pass and makes his notes.   Out the go...on the group 3.

What a thrill it was to see these great dogs.  I can remember judging some of them when they were young and to see them now in full beauty gives me cheer for the quality of our breed. I understand Diesel wasn't shown since he will be in Specials today, and that has to be a high point of the national. It is 5:30 in the morning, we have two Specials to show, and the long weary week has come to this, the high point of our year.

We may not win, we may be out on the first cut. We may see others go forward, but we are part of the Great Breed, and fortunate to be able to share with our friends this experience. We will go home on Sunday knowing that another year has gone by, and we were allowed to be part of it.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Last of the show for Friday Best Bred By

Best Bred By Class

Only two in there Jeff has the bitch and Liz has the dog, and they both go around and Dave puts Jeff in front and says, "easy, slow them down". There they go and the bitch in front and the dog behind and he looks at them and give it to the bitch.

We are done, and now there is some presentations, in Honor of Joan Ford, and that one is going to do me in. They have a Junior ceremony class and handling instruction, and then all the champions get to go into the ring to work.

This is my favorite part of the National, so I am signing off for now. I promise to be back tomorrow and Molly is going to help me post because Magic Marker will be in there. I am getting a bit nervous already.

Molly just came by, how weird is that.

They are giving the Joan Ford Memorial Trophy to the Best Bred By that was sired by Cade of Fran-Jo.  How great is that?

Lew Bunch is doing it, and I am so pleased to do something for Joan. Fran is here and I can't say any more than that.

Thanks for reading my drivil.

Best puppy

We are about done.  We have Best Puppy and Best Veteran.  It is still early and while I am a bit tired and bored, not as bad as yesterday. There goes Dave and he is still bald and tall.

The four puppy winners are in there and they take a lap, Abby in front, then Kent, Alex and Scottie.  First is the 6-9 puppy dog, (you can go look them off).  Second in there is the 9-12 puppy dog, then the 6-9 puppy bitch, and finally the 9-12 puppy bitch.  I got a glimpse of the 9-12 puppy bitch and liked her, but haven't looked yet at the others.

Dave is doing a full exam on each dog, and it is down and back for Kent.  That is a great puppy, and now the bitches.  Dave tells him to do it again, I guess he means a loose lead, and wasn't just making a suggestion.  I liked him better on a tight lead, but he still is OK. Dave goes up to Kent and talks to him.

Now he brings out the six to nine puppy bitch. A real cutie.  A very dark bi-colored bitch. Down and back and she is a handfull but Alex does a good job. There she goes and there she stops and now she is going but pulling too hard and now a loose lead. She is hard to see, so dark.

Now it is the 9-12 puppy bitch with Scott.  She stands fine, and teeth, tail and down and back. I do wonder if anyone is going to read this.  Tony and I are alone here, I think the Shackmeister and Bob have given up on me.  Pam O'Dell is here now, and there goes Scott with his bitch and that would be my best puppy. Dave wants a loose lead, and I don't think it matters. He moves Abby up front with Scottie behind. Abby has 6-9 puppy bitch and Scott behind and Dave has his hands in his pockets nd walks over towards them and YES it is the 6-9 Puppy bitch for Best Puppy.

Best Puppy is GSDSTYLE'S JOHNY BE GOODE V WIDOVER ABJAH

Best Opposite Puppy is WHITSIDE'S THEN CAME ME

Only one more to go

Veteran bitches 9 and over

The last and most interesting class of the day, 9 and over bitches.

Seven in the class. Bob and I have lost interest in the class, the show and life in general. We need a break. We have no new jokes and have been reduced to telling personal andidotes and making fun of everyone else.

Lynn Furgeson is sitting with Dave Rinke and between the two of them they have gotten me interested in the dog show again. Lynn and I were going to go to dinner last night but her girl friends asked that I not join them. I don't know how they got that smart.  She is always laughing and I like that.

Lee is judging and I am working the crowd.  Lee goes down th line and stands back and looks at the seven lined up.  He tells them to take another trip and maybe the last of the day for some of them. They all seem willing to go, and some more than others.  He moves them and puts Mint Julep in front, and then Christy Brinkley in front, and Mint Julip in second and Dare To Dream in third and that is the way it is with Reannon in fourth.

First was Ch Ponca Hil's Christy Brinkley HT, TC. Second was Ch Rowland's Mint Julep, Third was Ch Donka Dare To Dream and fourth is Phil-Car's Reannon CD, TC.

Now on to Best Bred By, and Best Puppy.

Where Type Movement and Temperament come  together

Veteran bitches 7-9

Veteran Bitches 7-9

In they come and one, in third is hitting the end of the lead and looks like a puppy.  This is a big class, twelve of them, more than some of the regular classses.

HERE COMES LEE!

He is doing a great job with procedure that leaves no one guesing what he wants. He divides the class in hald and in this group the only regular handler is Jeff. I think they believed in

Lee puts them all in the double handling space at the end of the ring, brings them out one at a time. I see Big Dave is here with a coat and cap so he won't be noticed. He has to do Best Puppy at the end of the day.  It is early but the place is a bit empty, and certainly quiet.  Ther goes Ch Donka's Pina Colada.  In this group I see the entries of 15, 11 are champions. It says something about the longevity of our dogs.

There goes Ch Randheim's Halo of Mar Haven, with a young girl.

Now Lee brings out a group of five but one forgot, so now there are six.  Zoe was by and was out working obedience and said she can't find her feet. She walked off to see where the might be.

Sally Haden has all but closed up. The vendors had a very great week.  We announced some lost keys and Michael Cheeks said if they were for a BMW or Mercedes he was interested. There goes a group of seven, and I have to admit, I am losing interest. I need something to happen. Bob Grady walking by is not enough, but clse.

The Shackmeister has left me and Bob to man the command center. We are both getting a bit crazy, so it might be time to replace both of us.  Jammie Ross is still grinning.

Abby has ChTouchstone's Outa'My Way TC I can find that one as her number is 777 and I can remember it long enough to look it up in the catalog.

Now he has them lined up, seven in the group and he stands back and looks at the front and tells them to take a lap, and stop over against the wall.  I see Fran Ford is still here having a great time.  There they go and I like five of them a lot.  They look like young puppies.

Now Lee brings out the rest of the class and lines them all up. And they all take a lap.  This is a great group of Veterans.  Three to go, and I hate to say so, but I want the show to be over. I appreciate being old, but I am old and I get no respect.

I think they think that they can take a veteran in, and not have to run that much. And then they have to take the entire ring, about a quarter mile, and he pulls Brandy to the front then Pina Colada and Out'my way with Caisson behind and that's it.

First is Ch Depahl's Brandy, Second is Ch Cresthaven's Deja-Vu, Third is Ch Touchstone Outa My Way, TC, and fourth is Ch Carousel Farms Casson Pax, VCD, MX, MXJ, XF, RA,

I guess showing them or working them isn't the problem.  All four are champions.

Veteran Dogs nine and over

Now the older dogs that feel like I do.  Nine years and older.

The fourth place one with the a Junior handler is Ch Andaka-Zederland's UT, IT, CD, RAE2 and 9 years old. The handler might not be that old.

In first place is ChAdelhund's Class Act at age ten.

Second is Ch Shadyrock's Conhosk at age 11.  Still looking good.

Third is Ch Sirus Parks Worth The Trip, TC, PT, and I remember watching him in the shows, and he is but 10 years old.

They each take one trip down and back. All pass the temperament test. I think they are so glad to be out. I feel the same way every day when I wake up. I do tend to identify too much with these dogs.  Worth The Trip looks as he did the day he finished, and the crowd realizes it.

The last one is Ch Braunhaus-Appelsine Peter Pan, TC.  And he looks great standing.  Ten years young and looks it. He want to move and there he goes, and yes, he loves the ring and is showing off like a puppy, jumping and moving well.   An amazing sable.

I am encouraged with this class. They all look great and two of them move like young dogs. And Great sable and there they go in a group and pulling at the end of the leads. Gloria stops them

Worth The Trip goes right to the front. And there they go and YES, it's finished.

First is Ch Sirius Parks Worth The Trip TC PT, second is Ch Adelhud's Class Act TC, Third is Ch Andaka-Zederland's UT, IT, CD.

That was a trip, pun intended.

Now on to the bitches.

Veteran Dogs 7-9

VETERAN DOGS 7-9

I can't believe I am that old, and so are they.

Gloria has them divided into two groups and is starting to work them.  I don't know who the dogs are, except for Lorien's Lights Out, who I remember so well as a puppy. I liked him then and I love him now. He is with Linda, and there they go. Cindy, in front and Linda in back.  I promise to find out who the winners are.

Gloria has the first group divided into two and two and now is looking at her second group.  Seh has her arms crossed and I see Cindi has Ch Paladin Dream Boat. He still looks good.  There they go again, Dream Boat in front and Lights out in fourth. They go around and are all working.

Dream Boat goes to the first group and she puts the first two in front and sends Caralonged JD Drew to the (I wish I were somewhere else) group and off they go.

In front is Ch Donka's Kahlua, and then two I can't read, in third is Paladin Dream Boat.  She moes them around and Third is Leeray-Apfelsine Rocka M'Soul.  Then they were going aroind again,a nd they seem to be working well for oldsters,a nd Gloria is looking them over and they still work.    She moves Lights Out to third and he is still working like a youngster. If they keep working he should win, as he hasn't slowed down at all. She looks them over as they go around and walks faster and approaches them and is going to move again and YES, Lights Out goes to second. Twyla would be going wild if she knew.  And that's it.

First is Ch Donka's Kahlua, Second is Ch Lorien's Lights Out, HT, PT, HSAS, HIAS ,TC, TDI,
Third is Ch Joelle's Geovanni Of Lonwood, and Fourth is Ch Paladin Dream Boat, NCP,CD, RE, HSAS

Winner's Bitch

Lee has them lined up with the Open bitch in front.  Lee has his hands behind his back.  I do like the Open bitch and she is with Olivia.  Now the American with George and she is a great side gaiter.  Bred By with Jeff, the Bred By bitch and then the Novice with Kelly, not as popular.  12-18, a nice looking Bi.  Now the puppy from 9-12, and a nice sable, but a bit young looking.   And the last is the 6-9 with Alex, and very dark puppy, not under control yet.

Lee walks to the front of the line looking at them all.  He has them at the end of the ring, rather than Gloria who put them against the side wall. He is taking them down and back starting with the Open Bitch.  They each take about half the ring. And the crowd clearly liked the American Bred Bitch best.

I talked to Bill Leonard for a minute, but am trying to get this typed. Peter Cassiopia came by and said he has resigned from the Foundation. I know they will miss him.

That 9-12 is a great little sable puppy, but looks a bit young for Winner's Bitch at the National.
Lee walks back to the center of the ring about 40 feet out and tells them to take off, and there they go, with Lee in the middle of the ring. They start out slow and then more speed as they go in front of the white wall. And they are not all using the whole ring, but seem all ready to work.  This is a long trip around this ring. Lee walks back to the line and tells them to back up and onnly wants the first three.

They all take a slow pass and he insists and gets a loose lead. He is looking them over again and standing way back to see them as the rest of the class goes around. The crowd likes the first one with George I think the Novice Bitch.  There goes the Bred by and two others.  Lee calls them all out and puts George in front with his \Open American Bred Bitch and She gets it.

Winner's bitch Kiefernfels if life were like that. Congratulations to Sera & R Peet & J Somogyl & D Calabrese &  L Dancose.

In come Art Sinclair with the second American Bred Bitch. Barbara must be going nuts about now if she is watching this.  There Art goes and down and back.  Lee walks out to the center of the ring with his hands behind his back. He looks and looks at the first two, the Open and the second American Bred Bitch and the two of them take a trip with the second American Bred Bitch in front.

Lee brings the class out and it might be Art, and if so, the Ross home will go nuts and there they go and he is looking and YES it is the second American Bred bitch.

RESERVE WINNERS BITCH Talimar'S Aviana"s Kiwi Tebe Nobe. Congratulations to Jene & Isabelle Dupzyk a& Jamie & Barbara Ross.

Big Dave came by and is all dressed up.

Open bitch class

I just got to talk to Gloria and tell her how much I loved her judging. I also like what Lee has done so far. I got to talk to Chuck Sedgwick and he, Paula and I were congratulating each other on Harley and his new Herding Title.

Gloria just told me that when I turn on the microphone that it startles the dogs. I told her they won't let me touch the microphone. Ever since I announced in St. Louis, they have insisted I never do it again. I loved doing it, but the powers seem to have another idea.

It looks like seventeen bitches in the ring, and Lee pulls out the fist six.  Art, Fred Freeman, Abby, The Guz, Linda and a young lady neither Tony or I know.  I haven't seen Flower Boy yet. Maybe he got caught last night and is in jail.

Art goes down and back and I see Bret walking around. The crowd seems to like her.  I just talked to Jimmy and Sheree for a bit. They are two of the most interesting and nice people I know. If you don't know them, be sure to say hello some time.  You will be amazed.

Lee seems to still be judging and has Liz in ther with Sim Car's Dirty Deeds.  She always looks so great at the nationals. I wonder how many trunks of clothes she brings.  There isn't an empty chair in the house. Liz has a nice bitch. I do wonder how they train the dogs to hug the wall.

I spend a minute with Peggy Douglas, she just continues to stay young, and I hope I do as well in a few years when I am her age. Amy Riley came by to wave, another very nice person.  Bob Dresser (The Voice of The National) has been working the crowd today. So, Tony is doing the hard stuff at the microphone.

I just had an idea. As Flower Boy will tell you, that is always a problem. What if I loaded my Dragon program into my laptop so that what I say would go into the Word Processing program, and then I could also be announcing for the video at the same time.  I think that might be interesting.  On the other hand, I get a load of shit for what I say on the Blog. But, since Zoe owns the Blog, and the List, what can they do about it.

And Lee is still judging.  Sheree is talking to Sam Isreal.  Mike has Lndenhill's VooDoo Charm. I loved her mother, Lily and I like her every bit as well.  It is funny to watch people try to talk to either Lanalee or Bill from the upper window. It seems someone should lower their hair so they can climb up.  Yes! The crowd does like Mike's bitch. I suspect Lee will as well.  Dan Dwyer is taking right now, and it is so much fun to be in the middle and see everyone. That is the fun of the National for me. Sam Colven is here now talking to Tony.  Don't say anything but I just saw our new board member Gary kiss a beautiful woman. Oh, nevermind it is Patti.

Lee has six outthere with Liz in front.  Crystal Branan is out there in fourth place right in front of Mike, and she is going to be one of the best.  She is a young lady with a great future.

Now Diane in front, Kenn, Olivia Lenny, Unknown and Jeff.  I am sorry to find someone I don't know, but glad to see some new blood. On the other hand, it might be someone I know, and don't remember. Ellen just walked by and still has a grin from ear to ear.    Lee does more walking about than Gloria, and maybe it is an age thing.  Diane goes down and back and I do like the looks of the outline of her bitch. Lee asks her to stand and there she goes with Do Not Pass Go Of Edan.  A good mover, and a perfect back. Ken Tank is out there for his last National, He has Flustanz Sensation of Victory.  She is a daughter of Kathy's great dog Ch Elvanson's Nations Cup.  Olivia is up with Schreier's Jetta RA CD.  I can't get used to that tuft of blonde, but I am old. Maybe it is a young thing.

Bob Eaton is here and Tony has a bag of stuff, he is keeping up here. I buy snacks for us all, and next year Bob and I want a hot plate, and maybe a micro oven.  There goes Lenny with Rising Sun's Whisper.  I do wonder what is going to go on with the lunch break? We are going to be over early.  It is much more casual this year, and it seems more like the Canadian National in feel. I loved the one time I went to Canada and if I retire before I die, I will try to go to both.

Helen Gleason wants to talk about Parade of Greats. There is still a lot to do today, but we have to follow  the catalog.    There they go around with Dian in front, then Ken, Olivia, Lenny, unknown and Jeff, and Lee sends the over to the rest of the ring, and out comes the next group with Art, Fred, Abby, The Guz, Linda and unknown. Ther they go with Art in the lead.

This is his first group again, so it is time to start picking. Now the next group with Liz in front, Savain, then Fred, Crystal, Mike and Kent.  Gail Hardcastle, (President for two more days), came by to show me her new puppy.  I love him, and this is the first shepherd she has had since Gotti. She can take him to work with her.

There they go, a group of six.  Lee is wakingtowards them, moves Mike up and sends them back and in comes another group.  Lenny, Unknown and Jeff, and around they go. Where they stop, only Lee knows.
Kathy Potter came by and is talking to Gail, (our president for two more days). Lee goes to the front and looks them each in the eye and runs his hand down the backs. He gives everyone a good look.  He walks back out and stands and looks at each dog from about 40 feet away and says, "one time."  I read his lips and there they go.  One at a time.  Diane with Do Not Pass Go of Edan. Next is Ken with his own bitch. Now Olivia with Jetta.  Lenny with Rising Sun's Whisper.  I like the name as well as the bitch, The unknown handler with Melana's Eye Candy.  Jeff with Shadyrock's Polonaise.  There goes a group, and Liana New is here with us.  I do like her perfume.

Less moves them, and puts them back where they were and it is Diane, Fire Bell, Liz and Fred.  Then Crystal Ken, Unknown and Jeff. There is some placing going on.  What is left is in there with ten left.

There goes Art, Fred Abby The Guz and another.  I think it is colder in here today.  There goes Mike, Kent, Diane, another and Lenny.  Mike has   Echo-Cham's Divine. That would be my choice, but as I have said, I was not asked to judge. Here comes the new president elect, Tish. She is moving better now.  I see Sue Godak, and Lew Bunch came by and is talking to us about what the three of us look like.   It is not a compliment.

Now it is Art in front, then Fred, Aby and The Guz. I don't know if that is it, or not, Lee keeps looking to the front as he moves down the line.  He tells them "one time".  Art gets ready, starts off slow and there he goes, one at a time.  Art has such a good hand on a dog.  Now Fred, and he takes off fast, but gets a loose lead and lets her do her own thing.  Abby slow and easy and lets the lead drop, and that is a smooth moving bitch. Next The Guz, and no one shows a dog like him. I tried to learn from him when I handled.  And there go the rest of them.  Bob and Charlotte Funk are standing in front of us talking to Liana New and Lew Bunch.

There goes Olivia.  Now he does it. In front is Art, Olivia, Lenny and Mike. Bob is doing Parade of Greats with the help of Tony. Bob, Tony and Gary are under a lot of stress, since everyone makes demands on them. I just type.

Now Lee takes them down and back. Bob Eaton is in front of us now,and I will go talk to him when the class is over.  I am sure he will be thrilled.  Martha Rinke just walked by and so did Michael Cheeks. Flusstanz Spirit of Australia may win this one.  There goes Olivia, and I like that bitch and now Lenny.  He is just working his first four.  He wants to move Olivia in front of Art, and there they go with her in front.  He takes the four, and leaves Olivia in front,a nd takes them again that way, Olivia, Art, Lenny and Mike.  THAT'S IT.

First is Schrieer's Jetta RA CD, Second is Flauasstanz Spirit of Australia, Then Third is Rising Sun's Whisper, and Fourth is Echo-Chan's Divine.

Lots more to go, the Parade of Greats, Best Junior Puppy at the end of the day, Seniors, and a bunch of other stuff that I never understood. I do hear there is a tribute to Joan Ford. That works for me.

Winner's Dog

Winner's dog

What a great group of dogs. I love the 12-18, Oscar sired Bred By, 9-12 and Open dogs.

They are lined up with youngest in front and there they go in a group and Gloria is looking them over. I think she knows what she is going to do and keeps looking at the Novice Dog. There they go with Open at the end with Kent. It is almost silient. She pulls out the 12-18 in front and the Americn Bred and Open at the end, and they go that way and she is looking and walking the courwd loves that sable and he tries to jump up the ring side. Gloria goes over to them, and the sable stacks like a rock. The crowd likes him too, and now the 6-9 puppy, and the American Bred, the Open and she looks at each of them with great care, says something to them and walks back to the front where the 12-18 Dog is with Liz, and she wants them to take a lap. There they go, and he would be my winner easily and Gloria is watching and she walks over and looks again and again at the open and American Bred. Now she has her arms folded and she walks to the Novice Dog and sends him out, and then there were four.  We have the 9-18, we have the 12-18 the Amreican Breed, The Open and the Bred By and Gloria is walking annd looks like she has decided but puts her hands behind her, and walks over to them again.

Now they stack, Liz looks like she is going to win, but it is Liz, then George, Kent, and Kelly. She moves Kent up to second with the open dog and wants to see Kelly with the American Bred and George with the Bred by and she walks towards them and bends down to look closer. Four fantastic dogs in there. They stack, Liz, Kent, Kelly and George.

Gloria t3ells them to take another pass and there they go the sable in front and I think this is it and they run and they run and there she goes and looks some more and some more, and Kent is on the outside. But, no, they stop.

They stack, Gloria walks back with her arms folded, and looks at them standing goes to the front, and walks down the line. The crowd loves the sable, and now the Open Dog with a lot of noise.  Down to the puppy.  Cute Dog, but this isn't his day.

Now back to the front, and she talks to Liz, and Kent together. I think it might be between those two, and ther they go and Gloria is walking faster looks at them and stops, looks and now walking again, and they stop.  They are stackiing and going back to the wall. Kent is working and Gloria brings the sable to the middle,a nd the crowd goes wild. She stands her free, what a picture.

Gloria tells her to stand back and out comes Kent with the Open dog.  Lots of cheers and he stands free, jups up on Kent, and does say, "Give it to me" The crowd likes him and he goes to the front.  Kent likes it too.  Now she stands Kelly and tells her to go back and out comes the puppy with George and he stand free.  A great looking Puppy.

She walks to the sable and says something to Liz, Liz nods her head and off they go Gloria seems  certain and NO,k she says something and tells the rest to come out. I thinnk that is going to be it, and Gloria is walking over to the center of the ring, and now turns to the entry, and I think may say something to us about her winners.  She doesn't need to, we can see. All great dogs.

She returns with the trophy and ribbon, and must have decided. There she comes into the ring with kids and the trophy and ribbon and they stand and she walks to the front and looks them over again. She say something to the kids, and they all walk over to ...........The OPEN DOGL.

YOU WINNER'S DOG FOR 2009, EJM N' EKO-LAN'S ELI.  Congratulations to Ellen J. Migliore.

In comes Upton's I Walk The Line for reserve.

RESERVE IS HE SABLE THE 12-18 DOG, ADELHUND'S POCKET FULL OF GOLD, congratulations to Donna & Samantha Graham.
