Maturity dogs

Evan is hungry so he is leaving everyone sitting on pins and needles; but I (Tony Szczuka) am bored, so I’ll type for a while.  Best In Futurity went to Marquis’ Blonde Bombshell.  Ernie Planck came in the ring to present the Breeder’s trophy to Liz & Doug Oster.  I asked Doug if wanted to borrow my tie, but he refused & went in with his T-shirt.

They were supposed to take pictures after the presentation, but it’s late, and the crowd is tired, so they are pressing ahead with judging.  The Maturity Dogs have come in the ring - I missed the first one (Ivyleague Winning Ticket), but George is in now with Chestnut Hill’s Apollo.  Next is Mike Sherman with Greenwood’s Achilles (good crowd support as he goes around).  Now Nicklaus’ Night Train is in.  And this is Evan, and I don’t care what is in. Actually I had a hamburger and it wasn’t that bad.  There goes Kent with the Open Dog from last year.  The crowd likes him, or the dog, it is hard to tell which. Actually, he is a good looking dog. Diane Brown is in, she keeps getting younger and better looking. It doesn’t seem fair.

Dan is doing the individuals and it is all but silent in the arena. A lot of people have left, and those that are here, seem subdued.  It is about eight now and most haven’t eaten.  Nothing going on, so I am saying nothing.  Now the last one with Surgeo, and then on to the judging.  It is getting cold in the arena, and this has to be the longest day. We need to add a day to the National.  JOKE!  We had hours when nothing happened, and an hour to demonstrate WDA type of showing. We need to coordinate the events to move the time, not take so much time out of the show.

People are moving by to double handle, even Big Dave is up and moving, and now some soud, Dan walks to the front, picks out Georgie, the Mike, to the end of the group,a nd he looks them over and stands there looking and pulls out The Guz.  He looks over the rest and walks back to the front, and doesn’t seem to like anything else. He moves to the front and sets the first four back, and takes the rest around. He seems to be looking for a BOD dog, (Best Of Dump), and so he is watching the other nine dogs. He takes Night Train and Winning Ticket, and takes the rest around, and I doubt they have much more ring time in them today.  Not what you would call the Magnificent Seven.  He walks to the end and pulls out Surgeo, Kind’s Ramsom and sends the rest tot he side. He has six to look at, and tells Kent to let him stand, and he is looking at his last two, and now stands back and tells them to take a lap.  Off they go. Dan looks fresh, and has his hand up next to his head as he watches them go. Lots of noise now, and clapping.  He moves Kent to the front, with Jerry behind him, and George in third.  Kent has Army, and we all know what he did last year. Jerry is pushing him, but ARMY HAS It.  Welove Du Chien’s Army Of One.  Only one class left.
